A CLASH BETWEEN DANAB COMMANDOS AND CLAN MILITIAS LEAVES FIVE DEAD IN SOUTH GALKA’YO

Galka’yo (PP News Desk ) — At least five persons have died in South Galka’yo after firefight pitted clan militias against  Danab Commandos.

Militias surrounded the regional HQ of Danab after commandos hauled a man out of his property last night to take him into custody.  After a brief stand-off clashes between clan militias and Danab commandos erupted.

Clan militias initially demanded the relaase of “the business man”. Danab commandos rejected to oblige. Clashes lasted for several hours before guns fell silent.

Traditional leaders and local notables in South Galka’yo are working to diffuse the conflict.
