Plane carrying aid crashes in Somalia

A plane carrying aid supplies for use in the fight against the coronavirus has crashed in Somalia's southern Bay region, killing seven people on board.

State-run Somalia News Agency says the plane belonged to African Express Airways and was ferrying supplies for use in the fight against the novel coronavirus. It said there were six crew members on board.

"An African (Express) Airways plane from Mogadishu flew to Baidoa and then continued its flight to Bardale town where it crashed," the news agency said on its website.

"The plane crashed near Bardale airport. It was carrying medicine to prevent COVID-19. It is not clear why it crashed."

There rumours that the Airplane was downed by a projectile.

Ethiopian soldiers from a nearby military base in Somalia's Bay Region were the first to the scene of the downed Aircraft.

From what has been said so far by Ethiopians who are protectors of SFG is:

Nobody told us the plane is with proper permits and no threat.

Nobody from SFG informed us about the plane.

What the Xabeshi are saying is very credible. Nobody from Farmaajo side told them that plane is safe, secure, in good order and peaceful non military non security mission.

Neither the Eelays of Baydhabo nor Cheeseman have the guts to stand and demand facts. They are puppets and will parrot what the Ethiopians find at best or try to sweep it under the carpet at worse.

Don't expect the Ethiopians to put their soldiers who did this under investigation.

The Farmaajo government is beholden to them and cannot even speak let alone do something which does not have the capacity.
