Surely, you live in a different dimension and world than the one we are living.

There are more people die in Somalia in a week than die in Somaliland in a year from tribal/clan wars. Go figure. 

But each death in Somaliland has value and is talked about for weeks end. Where in Somalia, it doesn't even register in the local conversation, let alone igniting a national debate.

With regards to South Sudan, it is like giving your son a new car without giving him driving lessons and him getting a license.

And that is where you fail to see the forest from the trees. 

Aside from natural competition between clans for political, economic etc, there is nothing else.

In South Somalia, let alone whole cities under dispute between clans, there whole regions in dispute, farm land in dispute, houses and property in dispute. And to top that, political difference, clan difference and what you. 

If I were a betting man (which I am not), I would say Somaliland has solid foundation to build on. Whereas Somalia has yet to hit the bottom of the depths of its sinking ship, let alone building something on any foundation.. What you see in Mogadishu or anywhere in South Somalia is a mirage. 

When AMISom leaves Somalia, that is when you will see what I mean.

From the picture below, it seems COVID-19 is runaway in Djibouti and Mogadishu. But seems to be under control in Kenya. Ethiopia's numbers cannot be taken seriously. 

 

Somalia: 237  (Biggest single day jump so far adding 73 new cases, 8 deaths at hospitals).

Djibouti: 846  (jumped 114 new cases, 26 deaths)

Ethiopia: 111 (added 3 new cases)

Kenya: 281 (added 11 more new cases).

Ethiopia caught between 100% political and security service to America/Arab yet 100% reliant on Chinese generosity.

Kenya caught between India/British vs. China and also USA/British vs China/Turkish.

Both Kenya and Ethiopia may have Locust induced famines and death far worst than Coronavirus.

Djibouti the only country where everybody asks, yes sir Ghelleh, what can we do to make you happy. China, America, France, Ethiopia, Somaliland, Afar and Somali Kililkas, Singapore, Japan, Saudis, Turkish...the whole world is simply writing letters of friendship to Ghelleh. The Proud Nomad (DON) is smiling at these useless cowards and opportunists.

Somalia: 756 cases  (35 deaths)

Djibouti: 1112 (2 deaths)

Ethiopia: 135 (3 deaths)

Kenya:  466 (24 deaths)

Since the start of this thread on 18th April, this is the rate of increase

Somaliland = 80%  

Somalia = 535%  

Djibouti = 52%  

Ethiopia = 40%

Kenya  = 89%

 

It clearly obvious Somalia is in a league of its own.
