Here are the details of the "national emergency action plan" being broadcast to the public today in Somaliland, particularly in-terms of what the government's task-force committee sees it as necessary so far.

Lets hope that may be enough to at least slow down the the "rapidity of the spread", if the virus arrives on our shores. Or at least lets hope that such "preventative measures" will be enough to "tilt down the slope of the curve of the distribution graph" once this deadly epidemic virus strikes the ground. Lets really pray deeply for that.

How do you ban flights from China, Korea Italia,Iran when you don't even have direct flight with those countries. It's either Ethiopian airline or flydubai that connects Somaliland to the rest of the world they have to ban those two airlines to protect the country.

Anyone whose original point of embarkation is from any of those mentioned nations will not be allowed to enter the country. And will be returned from the airport, if for some reason or the other he or she had arrived on Egal International Airport from another stop-over country. Hence, it's the original point of embarkation that matters not the connecting plane that brought you eventually there into Somaliland.

What is the point of banning few countries when the entire world is in the grip of the virus especially those countries and regions where most of the people going to Somaliland originate from such as the UK, UAE, EU, Malaysia, India, Canada, and others?

It is much better if everyone who goes to Somaliland is quarantined for a minimum of two weeks. There must be no exceptions in this rule.

Anyway, why are the mosques allowed to remain open at all? There is no need for anyone to go to the mosque for prayers when Allah gave us the option to do them at home. Common sense should prevail and the imams should take holiday.

Get in line to China. The only country that has the problem and the solution.

Get in before America and China start sanctioning each other.

Good news: Chloroquin the Malaria medicine is being chosen. According to China, Japan, Russia it works. Should not be too difficult to get it. Ethiopia has a factory that makes this medicine as well as some HIV medicine that was tried in China, but did not work as well as Malaria medicine.

Tallaabo,

I agree that Mosques should be closed for business, at least till further notice. Although some of the headbangers bearded Wahabist's clique in which we have many of them inside the country may make a ruckus at the thought of it. But still, we should do that.

And on to your larger point, I think we still need to control the incoming (far more than outgoing influx of people). Which is why I think this idea of establishing a "testing sites" at the entry points at the borders (from eastern's regions to Western's regions) and most crucially of all at the Egal's international airport as well as at the Port's entrance point in Berberra, are really good thing. Although they will not be enough if the virus catches, internally, like wild-fires, in which it could do easily. And that in turn means all bets will be off by then or in that eventuality.

So prevention is only the tool we likely to have in here. But if it enters the country, then I am afraid, we will be in a "new ball game" of a deadly kind.

The world has now 3 methods and systems:

British: The people need to be exposed to it, to develop anti-bodies for it, otherwise it will come any time now or later and then will be catastrophe. Therefore only control the speed, not block totally which is impossible to do anyway.

Chinese: Block everything and go at it with overkill, full blast

Russian: Block everything, but do not go for overkill, apply the British method once you have blocked. Russia was the first country to stop flights from China, but still trains from some European cities continued.

Underliying reasons for these policies:

Russia has become from food importer 5 years ago to the no.1 food exporter overtaking the giants like Canada, US..

Britain relies on imports for just about everything.

China does not rely on anybody for its main needs.

Somaliland cannot and should not block everything. Only make it cowling speed if it happens. Try to make social distancing between nomad cousins..good luck. But what was said about Mosque services makes sense.

I just heard that no link (or face book post on which some of you rely), that China has already helped Djibouti prepare with equipment and also drugs that can be used for treatment.

I am certain, from past experience that Djibouti will do what it can on Somaliland and Kililka side to help.

As for Farmaajo, from what I am hearing, he is busy trying to take advantage of the situation and bring the regions on their knees under his control.

He forgets or never heard of two recent incidents that changed the whole game in Somalia and Ethiopia: When you use famine, draught, desease to achieve a political aim, it means no red line and your opponents will not have red line against you.

1. In Somalia when protagonists burned farms and food storage in SWS, Ethiopia was invited and cleared all of them like Aidiid and the whole game changed.

2. In Ethiopia Mengistu tried to use the 1984 famine, to bring the Tigray and Afar to their knees, the whole game changed, the whole world sided with them and it became the begining of his end.

Hopefully Kililka and North of all Somalis are keeping in touch with Ghelleh.

The blame game is in full gear.

America and China the two ends, but UK, Russia, Japan..playing the real sides.

Japan is scared to death that China, South Korea don't come out stronger in the aftermath. With nobody around there being good friend even Iran is one of the favorite places for Japan.

India is completely confused and paralysed.

India did everything at the wrong time. Its anti-Muslim and closeness to Israel should never have been done, but even if the Indians chose to do it, it was the wrong time. India wanted to buy weapons from America and Israel instead of Russia and France, but the timing is atrocious, now the Indians are in a pickle. Thirdly India has more than a billion people and very poor and backward infrastructure..its doomed. Will come out very weak if it comes out of this well.

Pakistan on the other hand played its cards very well and became one of the first countries America does not want to loose to China and Russia.

Pakistan opened more crossings with Afghanistan. Brilliant.

Russian expert who worked with UN bio-weapons and chemical weapons issues, is blaming (the British empire core countries with UK at the center and its biological laboratories and the ability of British empire and false flags as this article from a Japanese poster shows. Somaliland is prominently shown on the map of the British Empire, where as Yemen is forgotten.

Old_Observer,

I have a standing bet that it will be China, South-Korea and Taiwan (or Singapore) in that order in-terms of the first countries that in turn will develop the vaccines. And it will be China or South-Korea as the first likely countries who will eradicate this disease by a top-down governmental led action. Which, of course, will be different to what any Western's country will be able to do it.

Lets hope that the vaccines gets to be discovered soon enough before this pandemic reaches our side of Africa in the horn. For if it catches fire long before that, then I am afraid, we will be worse of than anyone else in this world.

As for Mr Farmaajo, he is essentially a man who is playing deck of cards as his own "Political Titanic" started to take-in waters in ever so rapidly manner as the ships tilted to side. Which means he got less than 10 months to finish his term (or get himself off to life-bout). Moreover, the EU and the US, told him what they want him to do in that time, which he can't do it, even if he was minded to do it.

Mr Abby Ahmed may "capture" for him a one or two towns or some sort of glorified villages in the Jubba-land's areas. But Kismayo is out of his reach, since that will bring directly into an open fight against Kenya if the Ethiopian's Army attack Kismayo and Jubbaland's militia at the behest of Mr Farmaajo.

All in all, he is politically counting the days and the months before the powers-that-be start telling him what kind of things from A to Z sort of action he must do in the remainder of his days in office. And that will be coming at the early months of this summer, at latest, I reckon.

Masha allah, entrepreneurship at its best. Responding to market needs. Even if it is not 100% effective, it is better than having nothing on.
