And it's humiliating to brag about which Somali an Arab prefers.

There's no other major markets that are that close, AND this huge demand, specially for live export. 

Maybe we have to find other means  to get hard currency and not continue  this very unreliable business model.

Deni start to make Fish market industry in PL. After 5 years we will the main hub for it inshalla.

The actual people in the trade voice their views. They say that, in the first place it was just 20 or 30 days per year during the Hajj season that they had access to the Saudi Market. And now, due to the recurrent droughts, they say these new excuses to also stop livestock during Hajj seasons from Saudis maybe a blessing in disguise. It may allow the livestock to regenerate itself in the next 12 to 24 months to makeup for the sheep population that was lost during the droughts.

The Gulf market is the most lucrative and convenient for Somalis. It would cost way more to send our livestock to markets in Asia.

The high cost of goat meat for the average Somali family in the local markets goes to show you that the demand by the local and export markets far exceeds the supply available.

The potential is definitely there to modernize and expand the livestock industry in Somalia.
