Christopher Hitchens, signs his book that denies the existence of God

Life is full of decadence for Mr Hitchens.

Christopher Hitchens—the hard-drinking, chain-smoking British born American citizen, is a perfect epitome of self-contradictions. He is a highly educated man from ivy league Universities. A great intellectual who has often been listed amongst the most influential public intellectuals—in periodicals that influence the global zeitgeist. He is one of the most sort-after public speakers, he writes for the magazine Vanity Fair and other journals, and is today described as an "iconoclast." He has Jewish origins. His first name is Christopher—but don't ask Mr Hitchens how God made the "Jews the chosen people." He has harsh words for that. He is a declared atheist and has written a book "God is not GREAT" to emphasize exactly that. He is a confirmed agnostic. His book has caused as much controversy as Richard Dawkin's bestseller "The God Delusion." And he, like Professor Dawkins, gives wide public lectures, denying the existence of God, and making just about as much money, as some of the religious pulpiteers.

God Is not Great. - a Bestseller by Christopher Hitchens

Mr Hitchens initially supported Bush for the Iraq war, but later turned against him and the war. He was once a liberal before he became a conservative, and now, he seems to be straddling both camps. Politically he is a chameleon; an evolving political velociraptor, still finding his feet. But one thing Mr Hitchens is certain of, is the knowledge that religion is for morons, and the 3 Abrahamic faiths; Christianity, Judaism and Islam, are the worst psychological opiums that have turned humans into stuporific slaves of a divine demagogue. He also thinks God is the worst dictator.

In the following video, the great intellectual that he is, however fails to distinguish between humanity and religion. That is what cemented his colossal failure in the debate with Rabbi Boteach, and his book, reduced to a poor imitation of Richard Dawkins' great work, "The God Delusion." In his inexcusable, loath-mongering book, he has tried to close every aperture of reasoning that both science or logic could explain why there is no God. He made the case for atheism very weakly when he discounted the values that religion offers humanity. Hitchens failed here; not only because of Rabbi Boteach's outstanding projectiles, but that his arguments were not particularly powerful and riddled with ridicule, mockery and satire in his highly "intellectualized argument." He failed to disprove the Rabbi convincingly. And I do not even believe in the thing. But the debate is very captivating.

^^ Could it not possibly be that they believe what they're saying is right? Just a thought. ;)

Now his brother is going to write a book opposing everything he says.

I wouldn't mind sitting a special seat at the front of inside his grave right about now, just to see his reactions and who is deluded right now.

Well, all that begins ends in the end. That is life. Qofba wuxuu kasbado sugeyso in the end.

One of the greatest English essayists to put pen to paper. His command of logic and language are truly legendary. RIP, Hitch.

I highly recommend reading his fascinating memoir, Hitch-22.

One of my favourite thinkers. May he rest in peace.
