Make Me a Muslim!

Recommended Posts

NGONGE

Can Islam help repair the moral fabric of British society? To test it out, Imam Ajmal Masroor asks six non-Muslims and one lapsed Muslim to follow Islamic teachings for three weeks. The six come from Harrogate, in Yorkshire, a town with very few ethnic minority inhabitants.

How will the six volunteers cope with living according to the laws of the Qur'an? The group finds it difficult to accept the principle tenets of Islam and, for some, the implications of the experiment are far-reaching. Karla, a white British Christian and her boyfriend Ash, a lapsed Muslim, have been dating for two years. So far Ash's conservative Muslim family have refused to meet Karla but she hopes that by immersing herself in their way of life she may convince them to accept her.

The process starts with a sweep of the group’s homes for items that are haram – forbidden by Islam – such as alcohol, pork, inappropriate clothing, lads’ mags… The next stage is to add a schedule of praying five times a day. The rebellion begins almost immediately. Taxi driver Phil retreats to his local pub for pork pies and beer; others object to the rigid dress codes and say that they disagree with many aspects of the faith.

To Ajmal’s disappointment, only three turn up for Friday prayers at the end of the first week. The group are more resistant to Muslim teaching than he had imagined. So will he and his team of mentors be able to convince the wayward group that Islam really does have something to offer them?

Don’t start me on that program, I had my reservations about it when I saw the advert and after watching the program on Sunday I was shocked…what the hell was that all about? Sheik telling the gay guy that he is gay because he hangs around woman & dresses like them and if he keeps male company & change his clothes he will transform, the other sheik thinks a woman can turn the gay guy into a man so he embarks on a search to find a woman…. When did Islam change from a sacred religion to a lifestyle option for the porn star, gay guy, serial masturbator, delusional woman seeking approval from Indian family and not forgetting the gothic children in need of control?

Ps where did they get those sheiks is my question nacalad

*to the gay fella in the shop: "Take your time-but hurry up.."

It's a stoopid, stoopid program.. but funny to watch.

*in the gay fella's house*

Afghani looking imam: You have to change the way you dress, you wear ladies clothes.. etc etc

Gay: you can't say that I dress like a woman! *blah blah* it's rude!

Afghani looking imam: ..

Gay: I mean I can also say that u dress like a woman, look you're wearing a long dress..

afghani looking imam: .. *Touche*

Three of the four 'Imams' shouldn't even be on the program. That bloody taxi driver  gets on my nerves as well.

Stoopid program, but funny to watch.

This program was shockingly dreadful, absolutely disgraceful to Muslims...

The Imam from Brixton Mosque was more irritating, clueless and an able to put his argument forward. He was confronted by two participants (The belly taxi drive and the insecure woman ) of the program about why the Muslims want to introduce Sharia in this country, shaken an able to answer and lost his equilibrium, and then was rescued by the gay guy... I mean, what a disgrace... Full of Ediots if you ask me...

WILDCAT

I watched this. I am very curious what the end result will be as this is a three part programme.

Even though the production crew seem to be making this with tongue firmly in cheek, I think there may still yet be some surprises as to how the contestants react after weeks of prayer, the mosque, abstinence from Alcohol and etc etc...

These can only be good things, and I will be very surprised if at least one contestant does not finish with saying they found these practices beneficial.

That is, if they practiced at all... we might get duped about that also... who knows eh, most of television is start to finish khiyaali.

The Pakistani Imam: "I think you should let it all out." OK, might have not said that word to word but that was what he meant when the gay guy said he hasn't really mourned his father.

Channel Four makes people dumber. IT IS A SCIENTIFIC FACT! It's ******* pure rubbish. All the producer's at C4 ought to be strangled with a wire and thrown into a lake. That's what they deserve for broadcasting stu-pid shit 24/7.

Not a bad start. A noble idea and Ajmal seems to be doing well in bringing the message to the TV screens of the UK people. He could have taken with him a better crew. The two others, one is an Iman, are very poor in both their English and general delivery of the message.

Looks like one of the women (can't remember her name) has been won over already. A bit more of a decent delivery and pointing in the right direction is all she needs.

That early argument about Sharia Laws and Ajmal's explanation later
