It is truly sad to see that after 14 years of ongoing conflict within the same city between two factions,  neither Al-Shabaab nor the government can get the job done. So It is not wise to contemplate to form a national unity government with Al-Shabaab for the sake of the innocent lives in the region. And as a result, disregard whatever the IC are demanding.  Because this can’t truly continue like this.

Another bomb going of in KM 4 in Mogadishu, and another day of tragic reality for that benighted city. And yet, Mr Cheeseman's legion of cheap and hired stooges, who in turn talk so silly about his alleged "accomplishment" in office in an ever so breathlessly fashion, will soon descent on us in here of SOL and start telling us that this is "part and parcel" of (and you guessed it right): "Horaa Loo Soconayaa".

What a cheap and wretched propagandists they have assembled for the benefit of Villa Somalia actually beggars belief.

But still, cheap Public Relation (PR) acts on the part of hired lackeys in the social media doesn't do much to stop bombs going off, when on the other hand your government is so singular incompetent that they can't actually "secure" a measly two (2) square kilometers surrounding the presidential office of Villa Somalia.

That is the problem in which no amount of "Orwellian's double-talk" and a teeming verbal artists, collectively hired to spread a good word on your behalf in the media, will be of any help to you at all.

Xaaji,

I actually thought that Hassan Sheikh Mahamoud (HSM) was peculiar sort of a fellow who was so shamelessly in it for money, money, and nothing else but money. But this Mr Kheyre fellow, from the "donkey-legged-folks" of Mogadishu's environment, actually take the cup when it comes to who is the most greediest and "money-lusting-two-bit-looter" Mogadishu could ever produce.

For, as you say, he will tell you with straight-face a cheap lie without him even blushing it when he is doing it. And more to the point, he is essentially there in Mogadishu to make sure that by the time 2020/21 comes around, he has enough "looted money" (mostly from Qatari's slush-fund) so that he can try to "buy" himself the presidency, like the manner Mr Cheeseman have done it back in 2017 selection process.

So, of course, he could care less about bombs going off outside of his office in Villa Somalia, given that is not what he is there to begin with. And it's not part of his plan of getting as much money as possible whilst he is still the Prime-minister of the alleged legitimate government of Somalia.

HSM was one of a kind. He practiced what he preached. He never objected any Somali enclave, even in other countries, to bring money from anywhere, develop their areas as long as you did not ask for your share from what is under his control.

He agreed with Ghelleh that as long as every enclave develops, then its easy to negotiate anything.

Never minded his hoarding.

On the record, the secessionist are morning and angry about something that Villa Somalia has nothing to do. The economic problems that Somaliland enclave experiencing has nothing to do  with Villa Somalia policy. You can not simply relied on NGO and donations from other countries for ever. Somalia in general needs production. Now the secessionist are putting the blame on villa Somalia after claiming many years that they independent from the rest of Somalia and villa Somali is useless.

The old man is giving credit president Hassan, for not interfering what he called other enclaves delevpment projects in other words small donations coming from other countries and NGO. Technically, he wants the status que to continue in Somalia hoping his enclave can benefit with  small economic exchanges.

There is no enclave that developes. My last travel to horn Africa. I did not see any Somali enclave that developes in public level. I did see some developments in Ethiopia. Jigjiga was much more developed than any other region in Somalia, in terms of public services.

The notion that each enclave is going develop it is own separately is nonsense. I am not surprised if members of Somaliland government advocate such idea.

Duufaan,

I know you are essentially paid stooge, a "two-dollars-a-go-lackey", who is been hired by the likes of Villa Somalia to spread around their gibberish talking points, but still I must ask and say, must you be this stupid in public, mate? And I really ask that question with all sincerity in my heart in which you could possibly imagine.

And why I say that is because you need to re-read the argument of what was said, just to see how all at sea you really are in here. And if you were to do that you will see, unless you have comprehension problem, that no body talks about any other problem other than the sheer "serial incompetence" of the political clique in Villa Somalia, who seems to pay you by the page of nonsense in which you write in here of SOL. It must be decent gig to be paid to be this stupid and still have something to say to others to, even if it's excruciatingly insulting to the intelligence of your interlocutors.

No, I am afraid that wont do. And it won't do for the simple fact that no one (I mean no one) is actually blaming the likes of Villa Somalia on anything other than pointing out how sheer politically incompetent they really are in not being able to even secure a two kilometers road that passes in front of their Villa Somalia's offices call Maka-Mukarama.

Moreover, on the Somaliland, unless you are still on that "alternative universe" you seem to keep on visiting us, at least from time to time, I will have you know (or at least you would have known it by now) that the place is humming economically.

For it's a fact that the UAE have "poured" a good money on the place (and planning to do more), as well as have "earmarked" hundred and ten (110) millions of investment this year alone for the Berbera Corridor. Also the livestock ban in the gulf, and in particularly by the UAE have been agreed to be lifted, which in turn will bring lots of hard cash.

So unless you are essentially troll who doesn't even have a good talking point to his name, you would have known by now this simple reality in regards to Somaliland in economical terms.

Hence, the notion that says that Somaliland are in some economical difficulties at the moment, which is what you are contending in here, and therefore we are blaming on anyone else, could only come from illiterate chancer or a gullible fool, who doesn't know much of anything in regards to Somaliland.

All in all, see to it to pay attention to the thrust of argument. Follow the logic of the text of the debate. Scrutinize the sense in which the "verbal construct" of the discussions have been put to. And do all of that - in a double count of it - before you really decide to make a fool of yourself by bringing a whole new nonsense that has no bearing whatsoever towards what was been debated, back and forth, by others.

Somehow, I must say, that, this place call SOL seems to have gone downhill very fast, at least in comparison to how it used to be. You see there used to be folks in here, who however much you disagree with them, or they do to you, could at least be rely on to hold their end of the discussion with something that could passably be a "coherent arguments", that in turn has "tangential acquaintance" with what has been debated in earnest.

But now we seem to be asked to make do with the likes of Duufaan of this world in here, who is no more actually coherent than a mere "malfunctioning AI Bot", at the best of times. Which is the more the pity, really.

Old_Observer,

Well it's one thing to be a "money hoarder" of the kind HSM has proven himself to be when his days of being in Villa Somalia came, finally, to an end.

But the unforgivable thing with him was that he wasted four (4) years of a time from Somalia in which AL-Shabaab of this world could have been fought, bloodily, if on the other hand he was minded to do it.

He wasted all that four (4) years, which was enough of a time that could have been used to do a modicum of constitutional text-reviewing. Or at least a half-way-house of an attempt to finish the "review of it" could have been tried in those years in which he was in office.

And of course, none of that was done other than to create more dicey federal states that have no regular source or stream of income of their own. And he did that without these states having a "resource-sharing-mechanism" in place, whereby, for example, the currently bankrupt state, like Hir-Shabeele, could be made to rely on steadily on a regular source of revenue-income from the federal coffers.

So all he did apart from "shamefully looting" whatever he could get his hands on including selling any "prime-estate-assets" in Mogadishu which used to belong to the Somali State before its collapsed of 1991, was to basically waste time on the fiddle.

Or waste time in creating "shell-like federal states", with no resources of their own. And to boot, without even agreeing with them at the federal level the kind of a resource-sharing formula they must have with the center.

And then when he did all of that, he went out of his way to fly-around-the-world, as if he was on endless tour across the globe. And, lamentably, of course, he made a "hush-hush-deal" with Al-Shabaab not to bother him with deadly bombs on a daily basis. Whilst in turn he allowed them to get on with the lucrative idea of "taxing business folks" of Mogadishu right under his nose, or right outside of his office's window in Villa Somalia.

However, be that as it may, and all that being said, one must still acknowledge the fact that these two chaps who are currently in Villa Somalia, namely Mr Cheeseman and Mr Kheyre, actually take the biscuit when it comes to sheer "unadulterated cynicism" of never believing anything or never meaning anything larger than how to "stuff-their-pockets" as much as loot as they can. Whilst at the same time, brazenly, having team of "paid stooges" in the social media who in turn are asked to keep on writing, endlessly, a glowing and a good copy of a public relation (PR) missives about them or their political doings.

For these tho fellows are not even pretending to do any kind of fighting against the likes of Al-Shabaab. They are not even that much bothered about the lack of proper army to take the fight to the AL-Shabaab.

Furthermore, they are extremely relaxed about the lack of any discernible progress towards the constitutional text-redrafting. And most amazingly of all, they are absolutely that much more indifferent as to whether Somalia has "election process" or "selection method" or something else entirely different come 2021 change-over and the way leadership of the country will be "chosen" at that time.

Hence in a sense apart from "looting" whatever "untraceable fund" in which the Arab's Sheikdom can give to Somalia as form of "Spesa Politico" (i.e., Political expenditure), which in turn is an "old corrupt concept" from Italian's political system in which Somalia of 1960s have learned it from Rome, these two fellows who are currently in Villa Somalia are not even at the "races" for the effort of "State Building" for Somalia.

Much less said about them wearing their "running jersey" and being ready to run the marathon of their lives in creating a functioning State for Somalia before 2020/21.

And that means when eventually these two chaps are finally done in their days of being in office (or allegedly being in power), then Somalia would, again, have wasted another four (4) years on the clock of its precious time of "State-building". And she apparently have done that on the basis of some "silly agenda", which in turn had no "positive political outcome" for her at all.

That is good observation.

Me thinks its two guys who definitely know very clearly that they will go back to their host countries.

Its like Bolton who was asked why he did not go to Vietnam and his answer was..no point to die in some rice puddle..

Another day, another carnage in Mogadishu. And yet I am still waiting the "back-stage-vocalists" who used to serenade us with the silly "talking point" of the Villa Somalia to come at tell us, as usual: "Horaa Loo Soconayaa" (or some other miserably wretched slogans). We are all waiting, chaps, take your time, but see to it to get in here and tell us all about it, will you, chaps.

Al Shabaab attack on Somali government building ends with at least 15 dead

Saturday March 23, 2019
By Abdi Sheikh

MOGADISHU (Reuters) - Somalia’s al Shabaab stormed a government building on Saturday, detonating a suicide car bomb in the heart of the capital Mogadishu with at least 15 people, including an assistant minister, killed during the ensuing gun battle.

In the latest bombing claimed by al Shabaab, an Islamist group which is fighting to establish its own rule in Somalia, based on a strict interpretation of sharia law, a huge explosion shook central Mogadishu and a large plume of smoke rose above a building housing Somalia’s ministries of labor and works.

Police later said the fighting at the building had ended and that the premises had been completely secured.

“The building was secured by security forces. The four militants who attacked the building were shot dead. Another militant was a suicide car bomber and so he also died,” Major Ali Abdullahi, a police officer told Reuters.

Abdullahi said ten people, including assistant labor minister Saqar Ibrahim Abdala and police personnel, had died.

Police said earlier that some 20 people had been injured in the assault, which began when a suicide bomber detonated a car bomb, allowing other militants to storm the building.

Dr. Abdikadir Abdirahman, director of Amin Ambulance Service told Reuters soon after the assault begun that people were trapped inside the building and that it was not possible to rescue them because of a heavy exchange of fire.

Al Shabaab told Reuters one of its fighters had rammed the ministry building with a car bomb allowing others to enter.

“We are inside the building and (the) fighting goes on. We shall give details later,” Abdiasis Abu Musab, Al Shabaab’s military operation spokesman said during the attack.

Al Shabaab, which is trying to topple Somalia’s western backed central government, was ejected from Mogadishu in 2011 and has since been driven from most of its other strongholds.

But it remains a threat, with its fighters frequently carrying out bombings in Somalia and neighboring Kenya, whose troops form part of the African Union mandated peacekeeping force AMISOM that helps defend Somalia’s central government.
