Reception starts at 7 pm; dinner will be served at 9 pm. $35.00.

Midaynta and Somali Immigrant Aid Organization (Toronto) will bring the award winning documentory The Letter, which describes the HATE rally convened by the World Church of the Creator on July 1, 2005 in Portland, Maine, USA.

In the wake of the 9/11 tragedy a firestorm erupts when Mayor Larry Ramond of Lewiston, Maine sends an open letter to 1,100 newly arrived Somali refugees advising them that the City’s resources are strained to the limit and asking other Somalis not to move to the city. THE LETTER documents the crossfire of emotions and events, culminating in a HATE rate rally convened by the World Church of the Creator and a counter PEACE rally involving 4,000 Lewiston residents supporting ethnic and cultural diversity

Gobanimo~~~~~~~~~Gobanimo

1rst july is a golden chance to remember the things we've done the past 15 yrs.. things we regret.. n i was wonderin>?

How many children have lost their innocence?

How many mothers suffered in the cruelest way?

How many how many sisters lost their Dignity?

How many brothers have lost their Dignity?

How many fathers have lost their mind?

How many families have been separated?

How many homes have been ruined?

How many green valleys have turned in to deserts?

How many precious words have lost their meaning?

How many years have passed with injustice surrounded us?

How many dreams have tuned in to nightmares

How many sad days we lived?

How much longer can we hold on?

How could any one imagine the horrible things we have seen?

How many white birds have flew away from mother-land?

How much time did you spend waiting for a miracle to happen ?

How many of you have suufered from Homesickness ?

And last but not least

How many of you have prayed for a peace to come?

yet 1rst july is a gr8 day 2 make up wat we've done 2 our selfs..

Happy Gobanimo day

ps. be the change you want to see in the world.

Ghandi.
