The tribalists are those that destroyed our beautiful nation and continue to destroy it today, whether they are religious extremists or foreign bought dogs.

I can't help be reminiscent of the good old days,for good they were, and we the proud people's of the horn, were the pride of africa. We were a people who understood the concept of law and order, people who understood 'kala dembeyn' and the need to work for the greater good.

The best memories I've had are still back in somalia, in the early 80's, growing up in beautiful xamar. I remember the beautiful sands of liido beach where I would go every weekend to swim, play football and have a laugh.

I remember a time when somalia was a vibrant and colorful place where laughter and good conversation were the mainstay and not suspicion, where good innovation was encouraged and not destroyed, where reason trumped emotionalism and radicalism, where women didn't dress like bee keepers and ninja's, but wore colorful clothing imported from across the globe, where business thrived and you would see mobile vendors, farmers, and nomads all of them working hard. An Ideal tourist destination, where people from different cultures would come and interact with another in the birthplace of human civilization itself.

And what have we been reduced to today? Nothing more than a former shell of ourselves, our pride and noble characteristics replaced by laziness, thievery, small mindedness, hatred and ignorance. And we've reduced our beautiful capital to a dilapidated wasteland drenched in the blood of the innocent, a place where you don't hear laughter anymore but only the sounds of bullets, bombs, and wailing of mothers.

And you Karl Polyani, you my dogmatic friend may sit behind your comfortable chair, pick your nose and wage a cyber jihaad encouraging teenage suicide bombers, but back home, all people want is to get back to the 80's and get back to peace.

^^ good piece of nationalistic rhetoric and nostalgia for the past. I am sure the 80s were a jolly time for liberal Somalis. Just a pity I can't verify it as I was a baby and Xamar aint quiet my hood. :D

But you are still missing the point, ya hippie. the long term impact of the ecstasy you snorted in the 80s is making you conveniently forget some simple facts gained from google history books:

1. your "good ol" socialist regime also destroyed somali cities, killed somali mothers and imprisoned thousands of somalis.

2. your good ol socialist regime was also instrumental in using tribalism as a political tool

3. So don't blame the wadads for ruining your pipe dream, rather blame your fellow seculars, tribalists and good old socialists for making you a nostalgic refugee.

4. Your "good ol" socialist regime had its time. It used it to wage war against the sons of the dacwah. today the rules of the game have changed and the somali territories are the blessed home of the ninjas, beardos and the kitab of Allah is high in many places. Gaalnimo idoctrination and fusq is almost over in Somalia( whether you detest or not). the only think you can do is live in the glorious anti Islamic, Qashin folk infested past. get used to it!

ps. lol

@encouraging teenage suicide bombers.
