SOLers knew . Saudi King invites back Qatar to GCC meeting

Recommended Posts

What are all of you who were thinking this small conflict will go for ever going to do now?

Amazingly most SOLers understand the Arabs and Africans well, did not go all the way to choose a camp.

I did not care much for the billions UAE was throwing around, where ever side the Turkish are have staying power.

Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz on Tuesday invited Qatari Emir Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to attend 39th Gulf Cooperation Council Summit in the Saudi capital Riyadh on Dec. 9.

According to Qatar’s state-run news agency QNA, the emir received an official invitation from the Saudi king.

The invitation letter was delivered by GCC Secretary General Abdullatif al-Zayyani to Qatar’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs Soltan bin Saad al-Muraikhi, the news agency said.

A six-nation bloc of oil-rich Arab Gulf states, the GCC is composed of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain and Qatar.

In June of last year, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE and Bahrain collectively severed ties with Doha, accusing it of supporting terrorism, a charge Qatar denies.

Old_Observer,

The Saudi Kingdom (KSA) is trying to separate the Qatari from the Turkey/Iran Axis. And Qatar, I am sure will demand a high price to jump ship from Turkey/Iran tight-group side of things. And I suspect that the Saudis is going through the motion trying to do this, even if they know that the Qataris will stick with Turkey/Iran Axis as opposed to KSA/UAE Axis in the present circumstances.

And also remember that the Crown Prince of the Saudis, MSB, is in trouble inside the KSA's elite-politics at the moment. So Qatar will not wish to jump ship right about now into the bed with KSA/AUE Axis, when they not sure how things will shake-out inside the Saudis Kingdom. Hence, I suspect, the Qataris will not say "emphatic No" to the invitation itself from the Saudi King. But still they will not commit themselves to clearly "side" with them at the moment, even if the foreign minister of Qatar were to attend this GCC at the behest of his country and answering the King's invitation.

That is true, but this will seriously weaken UAE.

UAE is in a hurry to close the Yemen file. It has been a total disaster and is only getting worst.

This will be a bonanza for you folks. Berbera increases in value with the next round that is going to happen.

All this shows is that the Saudi are for some reason forced to reduce their enmity to Qatar. Will never trust each other but will be respecting enemies.

Qatar to withdraw from OPEC as of January

Qatar says the withdrawal has no political reasons

home > economy, todays headlines, middle east 03.12.2018

DOHA

Qatar will withdraw from the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) as of January, the country’s energy minister announced on Monday.

Speaking at a press conference, Saad al-Kaabi said the decision comes after Qatar reviewed ways in which it could improve its global standing and plan its long-term strategy.

Qatar has been an OPEC member since 1961.

The Gulf state produces 650,000 barrels of oil per day and comes as the world’s number-one exporter of liquefied natural gas.

“The decision to withdraw from OPEC is purely technical and strategic and has nothing to do with political reasons,” al-Kaabi said, in reference to a Saudi-led blockade on Qatar.

In June of last year, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain collectively severed ties with Doha and imposed an embargo -- by air land and sea -- on the Gulf state.

The Saudi-led axis accuses Doha of supporting terrorist groups in the region -- allegations Qatar strenuously denies.

It is one of the prices Trump and Mohamed Bin Salman has to pay for the Khasoggi killing. The Turkish have one more card: the audio tape. Trump and company must play ball. At the moment MBS might survive , but he has to do few things that is valuable for the Turkish alliance.

As I said before, the Turkish could be among the major players of the world within five  years. Without Turkey,  nothing will be done in the middle east, former Soviet republics , the Red Sea region or even east Africa.

Rising nations can't be stopped except wars or internal quarrel. The Chinese were a communist backwaters in 1990, yet within 25 years, they became the second largest economy in the world. Since 1990, the Americans were marauding in the middle east one major war after another , losing both blood and treasures, and the smart Chinese abstained and encouraged the misadventure of trhe Americans.

According to Steve Bannon either America or China will be the next super hegemony of the world, and they want to stop the Chinese now. Well, it is too late. now.

Erdogan visited Venezuela which is facing American sanctions and huge economic  problems. Turkey is buying gold produced in Venezuela by hundreds of millions. Trump is wounded, he is contradicted by his own CIA, and couldn't help MBS in Argentina.  Canada, Germany and Turkey and others are after MBS.

As Trump goes down , so does UAE and even Farmaajo who is playing fools gold.

The Qataris invested billions in Turkey. MBS is trying to take pressure off himself after that Khashogi murder fiasco. The two leaders are also close ideologically. MBS's tricks are obvious but will never work.

With Qatar blockade still in place, it will be foolish for Qatar to attend the GCC. In addition, MBS Mr. Bone Saw is crazy and wounded enough to detain the Qatari Emir. Qatar should publicly humiliate Saudi Arabia by rejecting the invitation and demand the blockade lifted.

The biggest loser is UAE and it projects around the region. Saudi can easily recover any mistakes its leaders did as a nation but UAE will pay a high price for its ruthless policy in the whole region including East Africa. Those games, they were playing will cost them a political and economic fortune. The young UAE leader cannot escape without damage the Khashoggi's scandal, he is hiding since the murder.UAE economy will collapse for the next coming years and no one will be able to help.

Greatest failing of Farmaajo is not using the generous support of Turkey. He really disappointed Turkey. If he simply had plaughed forward with training and arming and attracting Turkish companies in agriculture and construction he would have been way ahead of Ethiopia or Eritrea that have wasted a lot of time, 20 years in Eritrea of doing nothing, but military and security games against Ethiopia.

Even now Farmaajo should go to Turkey, dedicate that he will provide Turkey with candidate soldiers for Training and arming and not rely on Eritrea which is the worst instrument against Turkey in Sudan or Red Sea. Eritrea is now openly willing to serve America, Saudi, UAE and Egypt all they want.
