Class system exist in Somalia?

Recommended Posts

Salaam all

Am sure this may have been discussed here b4.

Every nation, well at least here in the UK a class system of some sort exists, the Working through to the Estaplishment itself.

So i wonder if Somalia has similar hierachy. On the face of it it does not seem clear, but does Tribal class system exist. Is one Tribe more dominant than others in terms of wealth and power, it would seem so looking at the current climate in Somalia.

But then again if the Somali class system is based on Triblism it would dedeat the purpose of a class system, whereby the general rule is, the higher the class is less populus it is, where in Somali the the more Populas the tribe is the more powerfull they are, well at least in most cases.

But lets expolore this perharps touchy subject, are some Tribes more educated in terms of Diinul Cilm or wordly matters than others ? in other words are some tribes naturally more auited to govern the country than others?

I hope u all get where am coming from

wasalaam

Well most nations with developed economy has a class system....in order to have a class system you have to have a steady economy and proper governance....but as for somalia every state has its poor, middle and upper class..... because there's no effective government the class system differs depending on the resources of that region....For example the residents of Mogadishu may have some of the wealthiest people in somalia because of the ports and the natural resources that surround the capital.....

as for the second part Its not a matter of one tribe being more educated than the other.....as you know every tribe has its own educated ones :D .... its all about making use of it.....some do it better than otherzzzz....lets hope we become one nation......again

Sorry to burst your bubble but you're in gross error when you compare the West and Somalia. For much of the 3rd world, including Somaia, your gain affluence mainly due to your religion/race/tribe etc. Where as in the West, the playing field is much more levelled out. YOu can come to the West with nothing but the clothes you wearing and in the span of a single generation accumulate wealth and prestige beyond your wildest dreams based on merit alone!

LOOL @ S.B, Who are you kiddin here, the class system in the West is paramount to your futute success, from a young age you family's placing in the class heirachy will determine which school you attend and under which envronment ( inner -city, over-populated halls for the working class kids' as compared to the greener open-spaced pulic schools for the the privilaged kids) , that earlly head start means ones' future can be easilly predicted but for the few that brake the system and as they say it 'make it good'.

Rayaana sis Triblism is part and parcel of the Somali way of life and an open discussion of how it shapes the political, social and economical sitiation is Somalia can be only be a good thing,

Classes and the Somalis, No I don't think a sociatal class structure similar the ones we witness in the west exists in Somalia.. No we are not that type of people yes we do have a lot pride and self-arrogance but thats common to all.

Yes there could a bit of difference interms of religious issues in Somalia, there are more religious people and there are the normal non religius ones, yes they differ in looks and character and at times there appeared misunderstandings, the point is they don't get on well, this are the only two groups we have back home, its two type ideological difference, and that's all that exists in Somalia if it can ever be termed as Classes, Yes or NO..
