what is your problem with sharia? how much do you know about sharia? before you start debating about something would not be good idea,if you have basic knowledge about the topic? i mean come on we can tell you till we're blue on the face that some saudi laws has nothing to do with sharia but rather culture, but it would not help you if you already formed your opinion and do not want to learn. about arab women and voting, excuse me where you get your statistics from? even though people vote all the time in western countries but that does not change anything.

You didn't kow that arab women do not vote?

The women vote changed a lot in the West, first of all they managed to have the right to vote which wasn't allowed then. Then women succeeded to end (not completely) all forms of discriminations : openning a bank account without their husbands, going to Uni like men, working in all kind of industries, ......

I can't list all the achievements of western women thanks to feminism and other movements. It took more than one hundred years to realise everything all Xalimos in the West benefit from.

Our fellow muslims sisters in the Arab World need us.

My Problem with Sharia is that the SHaria is from a male perspective hence massive human rights abuses against women in countries where sharia is practiced.

Pro-sharia people argue that the problem lies within the country's culture and customs. I disagree completely, not all countries have bad traditions but everywhere there is Sharia Law, there are abuses and discriminations from Nigeria to Indonesia.

I think you gravely misunderstood the definition of Sharia. See I dont think you realize that you cant oppose the Islamic Sharia and still be recognized Moslim. Sharia- is the Islami Law. It is the way of LIfe. If you honestly beleive(And I hope to God you dont) that observing the Islamic law in a Moslim country is the base of all inequality and prejudice, you need to find yourself a fairer religion then.

The bottom Line is this: Allah is fair, humans are not.. The stronger gender, the one that happens to hold the power cards fare better. it is a human instict, it always have been. It has nothing to do with religion or color.

Teibetan Community in rural South China, where they practice polyndary(one wife, many husbands)women are burned down alive should they decide to leave their husbands. Now the same practice takes place in Pakistan, and all of a sudden the media represents it as an Islamic practice. that is what people are reffering to when they say culture is different from Religion. And that isnot to excuse the inequalities that takes place in Moslim communities but you need to understand that it'll take sometime to turn the clock. Allah is fair and all knowing.

So walaalo I'd advice you to consider your thoughts before you put them down on writing. The prophet(ppuh) says in an authentic hadeth(in my own words) " Some of you might utter a word out of ignorance and way gaalobayaan without knowing."

^^^^^Salaam, walaalshey good advice. But there are many sisters who hold her views they look at the muslim world culture and say that is what this great religion teaches. Our enemies have lots of misinformation out the there via internet, books, movies, news, u name it. they work to destroy islam (while we sleep)-that will never happen so their best bet is to misinform the public. We have to engage them, and present this deen that is duty upon every muslim. Makala abaayo inshaAllah visit your local masjid, connect with your fellow muslims, and read the Qu'ran-you can't help anyone baayo if you yourself is lost. Salaam

Oh really! So U are boldly saying that eventhough citizens in the western countries vote, there is no much of difference or democracy that You see! Oh please, Can we have abit of reality check here!

democracy as practiced on western countries is BS. democaracy as theory might be good, but it is not practiced on anywhere on this world, there is nothing called unlimited freedom, you are free to say whatever you want to say as long as it does not offend majority.

makalajabti, you know what before you start bad mouthing about sharia, how about if you learn it it is clear that you know nothing about islamic law, you are like someone who does not speak french yet criticizes french grammar, and says he/she will correct mistakes in french grammar, how serious will you take that person.

Long ago, I said we have mis-information of Islam and it is the duty of Every muslim man or woman to help keep records straight...

You can't records straight when you don't know who your prophet is in the first place...

See This useful links then..

Read This Shariah and Australia

The Shariah is one of the world's great legal systems, an alternative to Australia's British derived Common Law in much the same way as the civil law system or the socialist legal systems are alternatives chosen by some countries as their law. Shariah is the sole living survivor in the modern world of a legal system based on religion. This itself is enough to condemn it in the eyes of those who regard any convergence of religion and law as anathema. But in Muslim countries, where religion is generally held in higher regard than it is in Australia, the religious basis of the law is accepted and, indeed, regarded by many as essential.

Answer to Q: NO

Allah created men and women for a purpose, for instance, in the family women should be the nurturers and the men the providers however this is not feasible in the present society.

Allah wants what’s best for human and the purpose of the Qu’ran is to guide us to follow the right path. Our gender will be of no value in determining whether we are to enter paradise or hell.

Society and culture are liable for the gender inequality.
