  1. I have seen the heydays of SOL's clan movement. Now, that we have more of a certain clan representatives, we should demand for the registration of new members from clans that are currently under-represented! That way, we can overcome the issue of qabyaalad on these discussion boards. That is my take here - smart way of ending qabyaalad over here. LOL

  2. AUN dhamaantood. I am sure most of them were young people at their prime times, running away the desperations of Somalia and the hopelessness for a better life in Europe. I have a cousin that is missing in Libya, whose boat failed twice and got arrested in Libya. He is one of the only two sons of my Eedo.

Our people have harrowing stories to tell about these trying times of the past two decades! Ilaahow noo naxariiso, dalkeenana ka qabo kuwa ku ciyaaraya oo arxan-laaweyaasha ah, aamiin.

Lmao...so conducting expensive siesmics doesn't count as actual petroleum exploration!!! That's comedy gold...I think you need to post on another thread as you are clearly out of your depths here
    :(

Sxb seismic studies doesn't mean drilling. Plus, who said the activity is expensive? Do you know the average size of the companies that perform seismic activities comparing to actual corporations that specialize real petroleum drilling and productions?

Haye bal wax noo sheeg, Mr. Petroleum Expert, adigoon ciridka kor u taagin! LOL

Tell me what other exploration companies in PL and SL are doing?

SFG has choicen to corner it self in isolation, and, sabotage what ever progress stable region has acheied is the latest mantra.

I have close contacts in one damning example, where junior minister very close to the president used his all powers to block scholarships that one region used to get for their outstanding school graduate since early 90s. He succeeded doing so and the consequences never effect politicians in that region but the hardworking poor students.

The way this SFG is behaving is any thing but statesmanship.

They went ahead with actual exploration activities, especially PL, which incurred substantial loses for the company that prompted its departure. It was in the news as recent as a year and half ago. As for the scholarship, I don't know and I can't object your observations since I don't know the facts on that. But I can tell you outright, if what you are saying is true, then that official must be arrested for denying students the right for education which is enshrined in the current constitution. Period!

  6. Horta yaanan been isku sheegin, hadeey run idinka tahay sida aad uga soo horjeedaan weerarka Mareykanka ee uu ku qaaday dhulka Soomaaliya, maxaad sidaas u dhihi weyseen markii aad u sacabo tumeyseen duulaankii 1993-kii?

Waagii Cabdullaahi Yuusuf, (AUN) ma jirin cabasho iyo cid ka hadleysa, xitaa Ethiopia duulaankeeda alaha ka dhigo.

Waa maanta oo la joogo, Siilaanyo iyo Farole iyo Axmed Madobe maxay iyaguna la aamusan yihiin, bal taas noo sheega? Miyeysan dalka wax ku laheyn, mise hadaan la weerareyn meesha uu qabiilku dago, waa waxba nagama galin sheekadu?

War hooy, this colorful hypocrisy is bothering us, ee maad naga deysaan ciyaarta dal iyo gobonimo ma rabtaane!! LOL

If the SFG waited petroleum law to be completed before signing the Soma oil & gas fiasco I would have been first to defend them. However, their latest position is deceptive and foolish to say the least.

You are assuming here that SFG represents only one party, is that correct? If so, why do we have representative ministers and officials in the SFG that hail across every parts of Somalia? Signing the Soma OIL and GAS has nothing to do with the petroleum law because SOMA will only perform seismic activities that are necessary before conducting actual petroleum explorations with real productions and so forth.

Afterall, the funds are a loan, that is what some people are missing out, maybe Alle U baahne thought the funds are free, hence, his dismissal.

Puntland will pay back the loan, the same way the 15 million dollar that the Kuwaiti gave to Somaliland for their airport upgrades, it was a loan too, and they will both pay back once their oil money comes to light, anytime iska bixiya waaye, am sure many people are thinking the Turkish aid are all for FREE lol

Nuune, salaam culus saaxiib, long time. Since I was away for years from these threads on SOL, I just had to water-taste with those remarks to gauge some typical push-backs from PL folks. Let me ask you, I don't know, how many of my generation have survived the Abdullahi Yusuf era evictions? Shhhhhh, please tell me without waking up Libaax-Sankataabte, the stage-manager! LOL

^^Alle-ubaahane will urge the government to sabotage this development simply because it benefits the enemy clan. I am sure Hassan Sheekh's offices will consider favorably Alle-ubaahane's request.

Very soon Dayniile will report that the Ministry or Foreign Affairs filed a complaint with Kuwait regarding this matter
    :D

War heedhe, that is too unbecoming for me to wish my brothers and sisters in PL to remain impoverished for ever, because that is not me. We need development but we don't need an unnecessary competition with the Federal Government. The wisdom these regional ministers are lacking is clear to everyone unless you are blinding yourself: involve the central government with all agreements to ensure legal protocols are fulfilled while pursuing all kinds of development projects in your neck of the wood. Is that too much to deliver, my friend?

By the way, I appreciate the red carpet even though I have tough tasks ahead to sway some of your views to the center, because I see entire SOL political landscape has shifted to the right, far beyond Farole, with these jingoistic cadre of new supporters. lol

It is funny: Hassan Sheekh's government is turning into a dysfunctional entity with competing interest. Parts of the government want to fight and dominate, while some other parts want to reach agreements and reconcile.

As to this story, the ill will and bad intent is clear. However, there is no way current federal government can enforce what the minister said.

First, Hassan Sheikh is not the government if what you are implying here is he only speaks for parts of the country and not others. Secondly, we've here clear violations of the constitution when a particular regional administration embarks on its own deals with other foreign entities without involving the federal government to ensure the constitution is followed and implemented. Thirdly, the two federal ministers on the article espouse the same view when it comes to the role of the Federal Government in terms of distributing the natural resources of the country as that remains the sole mandate of the government. Fourthly, the way you characterize the federal government as two camps with "competing interest" doesn't seem to be the case when one considers the realities on the ground. Fifth, if the government can't enforce its will on either PL and SL, it can certainly prevent oil corporations from striking deals with them by showing declaring its position and the unconstitutionality of the deals.

However, accusing the government of "ill will and bad intent" is simply a futile effort - a tired one at best - that has been the case with Farole supporters on day one. So, reconsider your strategy and narrative, especially in this case where you are the clear loser, my friend.

  12. Well, for those who want to have their ways in exploring oil and gas on their clan backyards without going through federal government route, I say tough luck! You can't have a clan administration and run like a modern state with international multi billion deals and obligations that require the backing of a sovereign legal state. The government is right to obstruct these illegitimate oil deals with clan enclaves that represent no body but their selfish interests. The likes of Farole and Siilaanyo will want us to believe that this announcement by the Federal Government is affront to the will of their supporters when in fact they speak for tiny segments on those populations in SL and PL.

In the constitution, the central government is entitled to distribute the national resources in an equitable and fair manner between the regional administrations to ensure development and welfare of the public. These are clear guidelines stated in the federal constitution of Somalia that is the sole mandate of the Federal Government and it has to deliver it with transparency. Of course, the government is currently not able to enforce anything on those regions, but it has the power to legally obstruct any deal with these warlord-run, chaotic administrations.
