ACTUALLY, "halfies" will have a harder time learning their language because they have to balance two different cultures. Im a 100% sure your kids will not know Somali because of their surrondings (canada) and their mixed race. (a double wammy lol)

Somali is in danger because most of the population is located otuside of Somalia and the coming generations will only speak english, swedish, and arabic. This is a result of the state of Somalia. If it was stable more people would stay and our culture wouldn't be faced with possible extinction.

  2. These hadiths/fatwa are contrary to what i thought because If you can't go agianst your ruler no matter how oppresive, Islam is DEFINITELY not compatible with democracy:

The Prophet said: ‘‘There are three things towards which the heart of a Muslim never shows hatred or rancour: giving obedience to the rulers (wulaatul-umoor)...."

So Aboo Bakrah said: Be silent, I heard the Messenger say: “Whosoever holds contempt for the ruler of Allaah upon the earth, then Allaah will hold contempt for him.†This is an authentic hadeeth related by at-Tirmidhee (no. 1812).

"I have already informed you earlier that it is not permissible to revolt against the ruler, except under two conditions: Firstly: the presence of clear disbelief (kufr) from him about which you have a proof from Allaah. Secondly: the power and ability to remove the ruler without bringing about a greater evil. And without these two conditions, it is not permissible. (ibn baaz fatwa)"

    fatwa [/qb]

  4. SOCODE BADNA i think ur just arguing for arguings sake! Since you seem to be a self-taught man im assuming you didn't go to school? I know the thought of biased "fallible" teachers is terrifying

  5. ^^ Baashi that was an interesting read but im still in the dark as to what exactly is an ISLAMIC GOVERNMENT. Would you say its just a CONSERVATIVE democracy? All the freedoms expressed in Western democracy which cause conflict is not present in an Islamic deomocracy correct?

Xinn you best articulated what i think about Islam and Democracy. Although we cannot innovate our religion to our liking, it is in our best interest to "assimilate" democracy into islam. Where is the harm in that?

    1. Tyrants and apostates of our leaders

    2. Jews

    3. Christians

    4. Evil scholars of Muslims

    5. Hypocrites

    6. Ignorance of our umma [the Muslim community]

Its ironic because FOUR out of SIX "enemies" are muslims themselves. (1,4,5,6)

R U serious? Go to Saudi Arabia or Iran, lets see if u can get up one morning and say "Thats it, i've taken this to long, im going to get...A JOB!"NO because, contrary to what you think, there ARE forces that keep women oppressed.

ALEXUS- although its good to dream, i think your going overboard. Women and men have had there "seperate spheres" since the cave men and will till we fly in spaceships.

  8. Worst Trip: Abu Dhabi aka little India

the asian prostitutes, the oppresive heat, the lewd/stalker type men, the stuck up arabs (whom you never see), and the CONSTANT HAZE OF SOMKE!! not a place for asmatics for sure oh and mad road rage! "yalla ya mahamad!!!!" :D

    cheers

"ENTERTAINENT?" hopefully you meant problem or issue!

Back to the topic, Xu i know what you mean. Afterall if one continues to explode themselves and end up only killing his fellow muslims, whats the point? Terrorize the isreals one might say, but did that give the palestinians their land? nope. Other peacful ways that actually give RESULTS must be explored

  10. i just LOVED this essay. The analogies and metaphors he uses are excellent. I agree with almost everything.

Going back in time might sound a little crazy KASHAFA, but would you perfer the AIDS ravaged and poverty stricken Africa now or a more peacful and happy Africa then? (the simple life is always appealing!)

  11. KHEYR

whats wrong with being informed about the indecencies of the umma. First of all its really not even about religion, just backward cultures! What a A VERY FEW muslims do can't do that much damgage to our already bad image (terrorist attacks)

actually i thought there was WAY more of religion then culture in our somali society! and who says you can trust a somali guy? they can be just as crazy as the next guy

  13. have you seen the documentary about Heynas on Discovery channel (i was bored ok!) THEY ARE THE MOST DISGUSTING ANIMALS ON EARTH!!!

their deplorabel lifestyle alone( i can't bare to write what i have seen!) disqualifies them from a muslims diet.

  14. I agree with Castro that the jilbab is a drastic change and much because of the strife. Then again i agree it is part of Islam and a good thing. But do you really think i could suddenly burst out of a hut in jeans and a shirt in Somalia w/o getting hurt? come on lets be realistic it is not a choice
