  1. Taken from Khushoo fis-Salaat (p.62) of Ibn Rajab al-Hanbalee - rahimullah.

IBRAHEEM IBN ADHAM - may Allaah have mercy on him - a third century scholar, a teacher and a companion of Sufyaan ath-Thawree, was asked about the saying of Allaah - the Most High:

"AND YOUR LORD SAYS: 'CALL ON ME I WILL ANSWER YOUR PRAYER..." [40:60]

"We supplicate and we are not answered."

    So he said to them:

You know Allaah, Yet you do not obey Him,

You recite the Qur'aan, Yet do not act according to it,

You know Shaitaan(Devil), Yet you have agreed with him,

You proclaim that you love Muhammed, (P.B.U.H) Yet you abandon his Sunnah,

You proclaim your love for Paradise, Yet you do not act to gain it,

You proclaim your fear the Fire, Yet you do not prevent yourselves from sins,

You say "Indeed death is true", Yet you have not prepared for it,

You point out the faults with others, Yet you do not look at your faults,

You eat of that which Allah has provided for you, Yet you do not thank Him,

You bury your dead, Yet you do not take a lesson from it."

  2. What do you mean by Fantasy Book??

basically, a book not of the sci-fi arena, anything else left. but, generally, you have simplistic/medieval/less-technologically-advanced-than-we-are-now, and if anything is done otherworldly, it's done with magic, it's fantasy. i.e LOTR

    speculative fiction

  3. it used to hurt to open my soul and tip the contents onto paper. this piece describes those feelings, and ends with a change into not being as defensive with criticism.

    I have a leaky mind:

    thoughts dribble away

    through holes in sanity.

    Public knowledge

    was mine alone:

    my brain is open-sandwiched,

and I have no strength -

    or the mind -

    to re-close all those membranes.

    If I spill these words,

    and scratch this pen

    across the mind inside,

and feel the floor go limp

beneath my feet as it bows towards me,

the world might see inside this porcelain head.

    Point at these letters

spilling from my ears and mouth,

I don't much care any more.

  4. In the cloud of inspiration,

with the little pink sheep of dreams

    grazing the grey-white puff,

the life I'm writing is free to roam.

    They rumble across the surface,

the little pink sheep of dreams,

    interpreting the colours and shades

    preparing them for my page.

    In the cloud of inspiration,

the minds of the livestock sharpen

    the pencils of my mind

to be inscribed on paper for the world.

up here, in the secret publicity

with the little pink sheep of dreams,

the heart escapes the encasement in flesh

    and drifts in shapeless light.

they are walking in a pattern,

the little pink sheep of dreams -

presenting the solution in their time-free

    careless distraction.

the cloud of inspiration opens before me,

and the little pink sheep of dreams

    enflame my words into action:

I've got a lot of work to do.

  5. thanks BOB, hmmm why does everyone keep on calling me a bro? :D last time I checked I was 100% women -- and still am. *nods*

  6. thanks dudette appreciate your comment. trying to gain an understanding of trust. I strongly believe in trust being implicit until it is proved misplaced, that one should trust everyone and everything without prejudice until that person or thiong discounts that trust.

    DeadlyVision very nice. :D

  7. I don't wear glasses but I use to wear colour contacts, they were way too uncomfortable. I have mates who wear glasses + hijab and I reckon it makes them look smart. :D

  8. trust is a sensual demon:

always taking, never teasing me awake,

    but comforting me regardless.

You have taken a finger to the honey-pot:

chosen to spoil the clarity of comfortable perception,

    and spilt my purpose.

Search out the clue to silence:

    investigate the drive to talk,

and find a way to regain comfort.

  9. -if I haven't seen someone for ages I'll start thinking about them and within days I'll see them. weird

-if I hear a song that I like I'll download it and listen to it for about three days and after that I never want to hear the same song again. ever.

  10. do I nnotice getting old? - YES! I turn 20 tomorrow insha`Allah. I'm turning that number over in my head, trying to grasp the significance of it: no longer a teenager. I don't feel any older than I did yesterday, but I can definitely sense a difference between this birthday and last year's.

Somehow breaking out of the teenage years and into a whole new age bracket -- the "20s" -- has made me feel as though I'm suddenly supposed to know, with absolute certainty, who I am and where I'm going.

    :D

  11. I collect yellow lighters not any other colours just yellow. and the weird thing about it is I really don't like the colour yellow.

  12. plastic faces in plastic places

    is anybody real?

    can anybody feel?

    the truth's so rare

    should we dare?

    do we even care?

    our emotions getting cold

    what stopped our heart?

    can we make it start?

    olden days are gone

why can't we go back home?

    did we have to roam?

    everything changes

    time goes on by

    we have to realize

it's the cycle of our life
