  1. ABORTION IS MURDER! THAT IS IT! NO NEED FOR EXCUSES.
  2. It is not a joke, and I don't really think anyone will laugh at it Sigma. However, you might consider posting your article on the politics side of the SOL. Thanks.
  3. Arts???? Yikes!!! Film Studies Sounds good though Xou.
  4. Dear friends, yes I take back my original posting limiting to only TwinCities residents, it will be a world wide business network of Somali Professionals and Intelectuals in the Business and Economics fields. Please now reply back with ideas as to whether we should have a forum within Somaliaonline or there should be other means of communicating. Shower me with ideas, lol!!!
  5. Sigma, you raised a good point. Though we need to be carefull of foreign investments flowing in to Somalia, it is one of the hopes for economic revival. And since this is one of the first Chinese investments, it should not be a big concern. Thats my take.
  6. COMMON PPL AREN'T THERE ANY BUSINESSMEN/WOMEN HERE??
  7. A while ago, a friend suggested we should start a network of somali businessmen/women in the twin cities, I think it is a great idea. I'm trying to recruit SOLers in the business field, specially in the Accounting/Finance field. So if you are living in the Twin Cities and would be interested in networking with other Somali Businessmen/women, reply to this post please.
  8. What do you (my fellow SOLers) believe should be the top 3 things on the New Somali Interim Government's agenda?
  9. Asalaamu Calaykum, Sorry, I could not help but say something on this rather tough issue. I think when it comes down to gudniin Vs. possibility of abortion -- I rather chop my little girls stuff. I just think it will save a lot of POSSIBLE suffering. (PLEASE NOTE THE WORD POSSIBLE) I agree with many gentlemen's remarks' being Pro-Guditaan, and I agree with them because of the way of life in Today's missguided massess. Let's bring back the practices of our forefathers, we have under estimated their wisdom.
  10. Harun, though that is a valid argument, it is not the main reason or the only reason. I agree if you mean that they are with holding access to prevent Turkey from gaining the economical opportunities that member countries enjoy. You also got to remember that Turkey is a big military personnel supplier to the NATO.
  11. Haruun, in politics there is no such thing as shame. And the reason Turkey keeps knocking EU's door is because it will give Turkey a great boost in its own economy by being able to export to these EU nations without tarrifs or quotas. Turkey has a competitive advantage in many industries which explains the reason EU keeps turning them down out of fear.
  12. Asalaamu Calaykum, If I may, I would like to remind you all that there are better topics than this. Please let's address issues like: what do we plan to do to help our country stand back on it's feet? Some other topics are the social factors in rebuilding the nation, or the needed economic boost the country needs and what the Somalis in the Diaspora could do to help, etc. Please, see this as not negative criticism but rather a good intended suggestion from your brother. Thank you.
  13. Asalaamu calaykum Walaalayaal! Alle-ubaahane, mahadsanid walaal. Saa i mooday maahee waa sikale ina adeer. Professor iyo wax udhawba ma'ihi, markaan jilciya iraahday ingiriiska dhab ayay iga ahayd. Maalin wanaagsan, dhamaan.
  14. Asalaamu Calaykum all. I'm glad to see brothers and sisters engaging in debates such as this; however, I'm disappointed with the fact that most reply with “sophisticated†words that are not used in every day conversations. Now, I don’t know whether you all are that well versed in the English language or it is simply due to showoff. I hope it is not the later. Please be kind to simple people like me and JILCIYA INGIRIISKA. As for the topic in discussion, I will have to say that being prudent in times when you are weaker than enemies is a smart approach. And living peacefully with enemies will help you build and prepare for tomorrow. Now, I have seen some arguing that Muslims living in the Diaspora must live with other peoples in peace. Though, that is true one thing you all have to remember, for those living in Non-Muslim countries, is that we are not supposed to be living there permanently but until we get done with the purpose we went there for. And if you argue that “there is no Muslim country I could go live inâ€, think again. There are plenty of Muslim countries to go live in, starting with Somalia. And don’t laugh; if you don’t want to go there because you can’t let those luxuries go, then it is your choice. RAMADHAN KARIIM!!!
