but Iran's real ace is the ballistic missiles which  were not intercepted

It is true. The ballistic missiles hit the base directly more than once. The drone travels around 200k/hour and it takes 7 to 8 hours to reach the target, but the missile is travelling 8-10,000 km/h, usually they lunch 20 to 3o minutes before the the drones reach the sky. Furthermore, as of lately,   Iran has developed Hypersonic missiles that travels 10 times the speed of sound and could hit  targets within ten minutes. The suicide drones are cheap to manufacture, probably few thousands a piece.

Crazy Netanyahu is playing with fire. Israeli airports were closed for the last 48-72 hours with hundreds of flights cancelled. They could hit Iran with cruise missiles, but the strength of the Israeli army is mostly fighter jets and bombers which is difficult to sustain 2500 km away from home. Iran is a 90 million people with vast country and no amount of missile will cause devastation compared to tiny Israel.

Iran could bring the missiles to Lebanon and hit Israel proper easily. The Iran regime has been building missiles for 25 years. They even transferred some of the technology for Hamas to build Yasin 105 RPG which devastated Israeli tanks.

Uncle Joe says that both Iran and Israel must declare victory and go home. The Ayatollahs had satisfied the Iranian public who were clamoring for revenge and Israel had paid some price but could claim some small success of shooting hundreds of drones with help of US. Yet, the biggest casualty is the so called detrence of Israel to hit their opponents hard and scare them. Iranian president Raisi said from now on any attack will be answered . Hamas has changed everything. The Gaza war will be written in history books for years to come.

The stupid Arab press doesn't understand the game and are talking about fake war. They are saying how come Iran has informed USA and other countries about their attack. Fool Arabs don't get the plot. This is a proxy war and Iran has reached the category of huge powers avoiding coalition to fight directly just like the Soviet Union and America during the cold war. Both US and Iran don't want to fight, it is simple as that.

  2. This attack by Iran could be a game changer.

The media isn't showing us but the main airbase in the desert was hit. Iran said it did not target population centers or economic hubs. In order to defend the the drones and missiles Israel has to ask the help from UK, US and even Jordan which means it can't defend herself from Iran.

The drones were meant to to overwhelm the interceptors which costs a million dollar each. Some reports say that it cost Israel $1 billion, add that to the a billion dollar freight ship sequestered by Iran yesterday from the Strait of Hormuz which supposed to unload the freight to UAE and transit though Jordan and then Israel. That is $2 billion in 24 hours.

The USA can't attack Iran. This Iranian local lake called Hormuz is their backyard. 30% of the world oil travels here and if Iran closes the strait, the barrel of oil will be $200 dollars in election year. The American bases in the gulf will be the target of Iranian missiles, the UAE will be quickly bankrupt.

Uncle Joe said he isn't interested a war with Iran, but the crazy Netanyahu wish to drag America to fight Iran. He destroyed Gaza and left without achieving anything but the suffering and destruction of the Palestinian civilians.  HisbuAllah is there, so is Syria, Iraq and Yemen intact with their forces. When you choose a bloodthirsty man as a leader who sells nothing but fear and hate the result is ugly. in 1994, during the Oslo accord , this neighborhood showed a lot of promise and hope, then Netanyahu and Sharon showed up to tear and the rest is history as they say.

  3. It is a political move to pressure the government to change certain military and economic policies. Nothing serious or more dangerous has taken place since the lifting of the arms embargo. Why America always trying to put down this country?

There was some increased activity during Ramadaan which is always the norm in Mogadishu. We have been watching their modus operandi for years and this is nothing but but a pressure to force the government to change , especially the oil exploration and drilling rights given to Turkey. Few years ago, some oil companies who were basically formed to get the exploration rights in Somalia, but could not have any  capacity whatsoever to  extract any oil were given  by the government . When I asked a member of the parliament,  how come these 3 years old brokers were hired to explore offshore oil? he said they are front companies for big oil , the like of Shell and Exxon Mobil, and they will be holding the lease for them. Two years had passed and they did nothing. HSM and company took 7 millions for that contract.

Fast forward 2024 and everything has been given to Turkiye to explore and extract the oil. I heard that the drilling of Galmudug offshore oil might start this coming fall and could be in the market in late 2025 or early 2026. Don't be surprised by this rapid schedule because Turkiye is capable of fast tracking extraction. In 2022, when Turkiye had found gas deposits in the black Sea , they sent their rigs, begun drilling, built the pipes to shore and as we speak some of that gas is in the market. Offshore extraction doesn't need security resources to protect. Ships could carry the gas from the sea to foreign markets.

Uncle Sam can keep is arms from Somalia. There are other markets that could provide Somalia to defend itself.

No. America can not tell us if Somalia is save or not. They always create the fake threat and encourage others to take advantage. How many people have been shot in Chicago, Baltimore and Los Angels last night? How many mass shooting a year is happening in America? probably 200 mass shooting.

Why the UN would listen a country that vetoes a cease fire to save innocent lives?.

  4. It is the tactic of certain foreign powers. The moment they hear some political disagreements they pile on to make it worse. Mortars to Wardhiigley area usually happens ones in a while. Everyone in Mogadishu would tell you that Al-shbaab increases their campaign ten fold during the Ramadaan.

Unlike three or four years ago, today you can drive to Jawhar by car. No one can deny things are getting better in Mogadishu. As I mentioned before, the departure of Mahad Salaad was in the pipelines since early February.I open this page and all I see Dhagaxtuur saying I told you so Somalia will go down.

THis American panic mode will pass and things will get better. I wish HSM would have hired capable cabinet to tackle these major issues.

  5. AS president HSM said Al-shbaab no longer engages the national army directly. Usually, they abandon towns and villages, but regroup and attack the army in the early mornings. If the army keeps the pressure and pushes the insurgents until they finish them off whole region and push them t sea, victory is possible.

To achieve that you need capable officers and constant supply of arms. Remember, MUdug and Jilib are where the main fighting force of Al-shbaab is located.

Unlike Boosaaso, Hargeisa and Borama and Jigiga  there are no Oromo labourers in Mogadishu. Every menial job no matter how dirt or tough  is done by the Somali youth.

I will tell you that if peace pravails we should all be moving to southern Somalia. I have doubt about that.

What galbeedi Fails to understand one can say i am gonne fight Alshabaab but will he win can he destroy them

He doesn't t need otal victory. All he needs to do is clear Galmudug, Hir-Shabeelle and Lower Shabeele. That will give a breather to the capital and enhance the economy of the two Shabbeelle river area.

  8. Here are the main points.

    *  The president said he is willing to discuss further the sticking issues among the four chapters.

    *  The issue of one person one vote is probably the most important one.

*. He declared to continue the war against Al-shbaab.

    * He will not wage a war against anyone other than Al-shbaab.

    * Somalia , Soomaali baa leh, and one inch will be given to foreign country.

Now tell us why Puntland rejects the " Soomaalinimo" and saying they won't recognize the national government. No one has that veto power. This move by Puntland is aiding and abating the saperatists on the international state.Even the international media is talking about Puntland leaving the union.

  9. Ilriya, I was talking about security not real life. You seem to be jumping all over the place.

In terms of cost of living issues and management of the capital, those issues do exist. In fact, I my future writing I will write about the disorganized manner the Bajjaaj , which is the most important public transport, which employs probably 20,000 drivers and their families, crisscross the city with an organized disorder, or the Waberi district streets full of garbage on the streets.

This is Somalia, and there is a lot of bad news to talk about until the cows come home, yet things are getting better, and we should tell people the good news and the glad tiding on the horizon.

Waa Ramadaan ee Ummadda Khayr iyo wanaag ugu bishaareeya.

In terms to the coast of living,  while inflation is making life difficult for everyone, the so called Mango juice you talking about is probably too much from high end hotels, but the regular people pay 80% less than the hotels.

I went to Karamel restaurant in KM 5 and the meal was around $12 American dollars, then few nights after I went " Isgoyska Fagax"  ate three loaves of Muufo, Suqaar, banana and Saliid Macsaro for just $3 dollars. The cost of living is always cheaper the more you go south and if Al-shaytaan are destroyed, the rich fertile land of Shabeelle would even make fruits and vegetables much cheaper.

In terms of using dollars, it is the only way to fight rampant inflation and the crazy fluctuation of the American dollar. In Kenya, six months ago, one American dollar was 100 Shillings, in February it 160 Shillings, that is 60% increase.

  10. It is nice to be home. While in Mogadishu nothing has changed about the attitude of the diaspora.

Youtube channels are usually for click and bait, but the Somali run one's and out of the ordinary. I like the partisan and clannish youtubers who bare everything and attack the weaknesses of their opponents. During the SSC liberation war, Kabtan Atuub was popular. He wasn't sentimental about others, but has practical partisan points that supported the base, what you get was what you see. His cause was just and  he was very successful.  These days I  barely watch Somali Youtubers these days because they all got fake news and further analyze that fake news itself.

Yesterday I did listen to Sheikh Abdi Hersy and was shocked about his peddling of some fake unreliable news.

The Sheikh is very popular and does a good work in terms his vocal support for  the restoration of dignified Somali nation in general and pointing out the greed of Somali leaders whether they are in Garoowe, Hargeisa or Mogadishu. He doesn't hide his affiliation with Nabad Iyo Nolol crowd and he is a proud member of the flag bearers of the Farmaajo group. Sometimes being a diehard supporter of a group could blind you your outlook in politics and the life itself.

In his latest video, he is attacking the former NISA director Mahad Salaad for being Al-shbaab. As an educated Sheikh, he should be very careful how he frames these issues. I remember few years ago when HSM was bombed by Al-shbaab from left and right, some SOL residents accused him of being Al-shbaab supporter. Al-shbaab tried to kill HSM from day one when he took office yet, this crowd accused him of affiliation.

Mahad Salaad seems to be the most successful NISA director since 2012. For the last 12 months, Mogadishu has seen three or four bombings only. Targeted killings have almost disappeared and if someone is killed the chances of being caught is 90%. Undercover officers room the markets and streets. CCTV camera have been deployed widely throughout the city, and even other crimes of banditry and extortions are resolved through camera. This week, the Heliwaa Police chief has been convicted of extension and murder. The prosecutors of the Banaadir region used CCTV camera to reveal his activity using his personal car, where he bought the face masks, up to the minute when the murder took and finally went to a hotel. The rule of law is shaping up great in Mogadishu. When was the last time you saw a police captain been tried in a court and found guilty anywhere in Somalia?

Yet,  Sheikh Abdi is saying Mahad Salaad himself is the bomber who works for Al-shbaab. How could the NISA director who is fight the group could be accused of aiding and abetting the enemy he is fighting?. HSM didn't fire Mahad, in fact, when I landed in Mogadishu in February, one official told me that he is planning to leave and run for Galmudg leadership. I said, " isn't NISA one of the most powerful agencies of the state, why is he doing this?

I hope the sheikh should be very careful of his reputation and discuss the political issues after he verifies the veracity of what he is saying. Otherwise he would be like any other Fake Youtuber who want to be popular regardless of the facts. Furthermore, being an Imaam of a Masjid carries a heavy weight and integrity that must be protected.

  11. In terms of the constitution, I don't any regional election will take place without consensus and agreement. Everything we see is Xadhigjiid, or political maneuvering. I think The political moves of HSM have alarmed the opposition and they want to curtail his power.

I am of the school that don't give him any excuses to abandon the current agenda of fighting Al-shbaab and let the real election challenge begin in late 2025 and early 2026. If he fails to defeat Al-shbaab despite hiring his own clan from military, intelligence and the alliance with Galmudug politicians, he won't have any chance to even contest the election let alone wining.

    SubhaanAlah,

Warya MMA, do you want the Al-shbaab to bomb these hotels to save the girls that Al-shbaab  say been abused?  and kill hundreds of innocent people . My friend, be careful, this not a good language. Of course there are corruptions and those who have money and power abuse those who are in need including poor women, but don't generalize. I think the social order and  family ties in Mogadishu are stronger than ever. I went to a restaurant called Caramel owned by guys from Minnesota and couldn't believe the middle class families with wives and husband, married couple with children and so on dining.  Unlike Ethiopia or Kenya there are prostitutes on the streets or hotels. The descent culture of Somalia and modesty of our women is intact in Mogadishu. Hargeisa is probably the worst place in Somalia in terms moral corruption of women, and I am not saying this because I disagree with them politically.

The only thing that I have observed is that the divorce rate among the young generation is high just like in diaspora. The big difference is that in Mogadishu young boys marry at early age which is good, but this divorce phenomena must be tackled by educating and mentoring the young couples like Malaysia did few years ago. They Qadi won't give marriage license or enter in to marriage agreement unless they take a course.

By the way, MMA, I have another news from your neck of the woods. The Mifif, or I should say the Baydhabo/Bakool wing of D&M is only dominating everything, but also abusing power . from the presidency, to military limilia, cabinet and what not. The large hard working people of Shabeelaha hoose who are one of the most productive, hard working and good Somalis had been sidelined by your ilk and others from the other regions of Somalia. The Tuni, Geledi and Jareer Weyne should have their own Maamul of Shabeelaha Hoose and leave Batdhabo guys. Last time I checked they didn't even get the vice president. If I ever join a party it will be the party of the people of Afgooye, Qoryooley, Janaale and son. They are not even in the cabinet of Hamza.

These  are they people don't Shaxaad or beg like most Somalis, they work hard. So, Saaxiib goorma ayaad ka hadlaysaa Haqa dadka Shabeelaha Hoose?

Will Ethiopian airline flights to Garowe & Hargeysa be banned?

Also, the Puntland minister of information is speaking exactly like our own Xaaji Xanjuf.

When I read I thought he was taking a page from Xaaji. He just said almost like " The bunker should pacify Mogadishu before talking to Puntland. The rebels had soft spot for each other as always.

In terms Somali government stopping Ethiopian Airline , it is a matter just a letter to the airline and Kaboom it is over. No airline will risk to fly an airspace that is blocked from her, mind you there are insurance and other legal issues.

Now we got two separatist administrations.OO Ethiopia u kala badinaya just like nineteen eighties.

    • Haha - That was funny. You made me laugh! 1

  14. This is bad according to the intelligence community. Mogadishu was getting better in terms of security, so why fix it  if its not broken.

As Maakhiri1 said, Galmudug is now the epicenter of many things including the offshore oil blocks and the fight against Al-shbaab. Qoorqoor wasn't doing good in terms of the war effort. Millions of dollars have been loss for the war effort and lately Al-shbaab retook many places liberated last year.

    IT is a shake up.

  15. Mr. qurac, the issue isn't about C/laahi Dani or HSM, it is bigger than that.

In terms of Awdal support, Allah is my witness HSM isn't interested in Awdal or Khaatumo either. It is a fact. There are oligarchs and people whose HSM fears  more than anything we have ever seen  in Somali politics. The ruling class has unfounded fear of the D block taking power from them and might even sacrifice some fundamental values of the nation. The separatists have 35 votes combined 9 other from Omar Geelle and these 45 members are fighting us in Mogadishu with help of Omar Geele, and it seems HSM won't do anything Geelle didn't approve.

Now, on the topic.  I know Gracad was done without the help of the Somali government, yet now isn't the time to travel to Addis and kiss Ethiopia for business or other diplomatic reasons. While Abiy Ahmed has lowered his rhetoric about taking the sea, that threat didn't disappear yet,  and the federal government is fighting him in diplomatic arena. Visiting Ethiopia for deals at the moment seems to be aiding and abetting the enemy, it is a no no in foreign policy affaires, unless you have the same mentality like the Hargeisa regime.

Dont you remember just over a month ago, Deni gogol dhigaya oo Hasan iyo dhamaan other leaders aqbaleen, xasan markuu arkay one of the issue in uu yahay dastuurka uu jeebka ku wato, cancelay gogoshii

It wasn't Gogol, but a political maneuvering by Farmaajo and Shariif to be relevant again. Dani could deal with his old friend HSM if he wishes. It's just a phone call away.

Now let me move to the big picture.

We all agree that HSM isn't the right president in terms integrity and avoiding clan animosity. It is who is and we can't change. Yet, those issues are not disqualifications for him to rule as he sees fit for the national interest. At the moment HSM and the super majority of the parliament thinks that the next two years should not be wasted on constitutional matters and the usual unending Somali debate. Farmaajo lost two years when Dani and company dragged his term until it is too late and then demanded he appoint a provisional government.

Now, only two years are left of the four year term of HSM. Most us believe that rather wasting time , he should concentrate and finish the war on Al-shbaab.

THese so called democracy in Somalia is nothing but a useless pickering of a people who born to talk until cows come home. I my experience , I have been to different political and non profit organizations and every simple issue that should have been debated and resolved half an hour takes four hours without resolving. That is nature of the Somali debates where everyone  wants  to be heard without saying anything meaningful.

Let this guy clear Al-shbaab as much as he can and wait what happens and see how  the next election plays out. If he fails to clear them from central Somalia and lower Shabeelle for the next two years, his chances of coming back is almost zero.

Furthermore, if C/laahi Dani want to fight HSM, he should within the Somali political landscape. Find regional allies, convince your idea to others and try to improve things for the next year. Bringing foreign powers to the equation and weakening the state might help you in the short term to sideline HSM, but it's effects will be deadly for the future. We have seen how the TPLF took advantage of the internal divisions.

If I were the leader, I wouldn't even debate a day with these useless regional leaders. My army would march to reach Raascambooni and Lawyacado without anyone's permission.

Mr. Qurac, it is probably the later.

It is Ramadaam and I would only say that after spending few months in the smelly Addis Ababa where people pee on the streets and Sawahili dominated Kenya , add that to decades of diaspora, it was a fresh air to intermingle Somalis of Mogadishi. The modest well dresses Somali women seem to be more beautiful than ever and the good scents of udug could be felt on the shops and the streets.

Having a second wife is also easy with famous Mogadishu accent of " Aboowe Macaane" .

Anyway, let us leave it there before I get trouble back home in Canada.
