I'm confused wallahi; i thought that Af Maay was a brother language of Af Somali. I hear people saying it's a Somali dialect, ii fasir nooh. There is no need of recognizing or in la kala saaro Waqooyi iyo Banaadiri, ku daa uun Standard Somali. You know better than me about these other Swahili minority languages, laakin aren't these languages dying?

Lol why are you so zealous over anything Arabic. We all know that the average Somali can't speak Arabic markaas aad ka hadli 3/4 fluent. Arabic for Somali people is wax la barto maaha wax la yaqaan.
  15. Che -Guevara;950638 wrote: Then logic would dictate these 'Middle Eastern' Somalilanders are not ethnic Somalis. Brianblaster. Ar we assume nomadic Somalis descend from a common ancestor? Haa saaxiib, apart from small paternal communities such as R0a2(parts of Somaliland), T(Guban), K2(Haud)ect. who reach 10% each but are still native east africans. The vast majority of nomadic Somalis share common ancestor paternally E3b1*(E1b1b1a). Now that is ethnic Somali  http://www.nature.com/ejhg/journal/v13/n7/images/5201390f1.gif Ethnic Somalis are at least one of the most homogenous ethnicities in Africa...

Saalax;950633 wrote: Not really but if we follow the popular history, historical texts dating back to 600 years ago and DNA results of some Somalilanders whose DNA originated from the Middle East then one can't argue against it. Saalax, the only non Somali gene precentage in ethnic Somalis is T haplogroup and it is not only restricted to Somalilanders it is prominent in Djibouti down to Dire Dawa area and according to genetics T haplogroup migrated into modern day Somali peninsula 2000+ yrs from Mesopotamia and the Fertile crescent and that is way before Islam and Sh ***** isaac.

If anything, you are less Somali since you claimed to be a descendant of some phantom Arab Sheikh. Walaalkiis. Faraha xanuuna when Saalax types Somaliaonline to access the site. They are Somali Bantu but they are not Ethnic Somali like the nomadic tribes, kala saar Soomaalida. Ayaga laftooda ayaa kuu sheegaya in ay yihiin Somali Bantu. Markaa they are something other than ethnic Somali, saaxib and there is nothing wrong with that. Bantus are ethnically, physically, and culturally distinct from Somalis, and they have remained marginalized ever since their arrival in Somalia through slavery. http://www.unhcr.org/publ/PUBL/3d9ac1502.pdf I guess this thread has derailed into another topic...

  22. Well, if the first theory was true that Islam came to Somalia through 13th century Persian trading then we would have all been Shia. but there is not an exact date of when this trading occured, and it could have well been Pre-Islamic. Personally, i am convinced that the 2nd theory is closest to the truth.
  23. Such a beautiful vision for Somalias future, more Somalis should see this.

Very intresting, could you motivate yourself more? examples?
