Ethiopia’s State Bank Mobilizes Task Force to Recoup 6 Billion Birr Lost through mysterious “system failure”

The source indicated that the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia does not yet know the amount of money it lost, but it indicated that over six billion birr worth of transactions were conducted in a matter of six hours, and over 25,000 money transfers were made.

Borkena has learned from citizens’ reports on social media that most money transfer transactions and ATM withdrawals were observed among university students. Jimma University and Addis Ababa University have issued warning statements urging students to return if they have withdrawn or transferred money from the bank and avoid facing legal consequences.

Last week, the bank fired more than 200 employees in connection with fraudulent educational credentials.

  2. Somaliland and Allied Militias Plan Offensive Against SSC

Bihi aims to use a new conflict as a pretext to delay elections in Somaliland-controlled districts. SSC forces did not invade Isaaq-inhabited districts and villages after they dislodged Goja’ade from Somaliland forces and allied clan militias.

“Any war against SSC constituencies will be viewed as a political decision against lives and properties of a Somali clan and will have wider repercussions” said a retired MP in Hargeisa,  who accused Bihi of the intention to spark internecine inter-clan war to stay in power.

what makes u think a  dagaal fighting for ur country is considered xaq daro?

You should heed Arafaat's wise council, for he is your good conscious.

Besides, did we not agree you would stay in your territories, and make mo wild claims for other people's lands? And in return, we shall not be forcefully detaching you nails with a pair of pliers. Or is yours a case of " Ninna caadadi ma baajo, bahalna  qeedhiin ma daayo? ".

  4. Under the Federal Constitution, the Power for holding direct elections rests with the FMSs with the exception of Federal offices. FGS only has a monitoring supervisory role.

The same way the FGS had no role in District Council Elections in PL, it shall have none in other FMSs. Nor shall it have a role in Leadership elections in FMSs. Even the election of Federal MPs in both Houses rests with FMSs.

Al-Shabab Launches Deadly Attack on Somali Military Base. The Somali government is keeping quiet about the death of Commander (Liban Golcad) and 58 other soldiers in Busleey, Lower Shabelle region. It's alarming that the militant group AS has been claiming responsibility for the deaths of over 10,000 soldiers in the past two years! This is because the Somali government's strategy has failed, along with promises from the Somali President that turned out to be false!

Condolences to Liban Golcad and other soldiers killed last night. HSM, the clueless TikToker minister, and the inept security leadership in place must answer for the unprecedented loss of young Somali troops. In two years, a third of the Somali soldiers have either been killed or maimed, with thousands of other patriots leaving the army after witnessing negligence and leadership that doesn’t care about them. It appears there is a deliberate campaign to dismantle the SNA!

  6. Forget about Waqdari & Lasa Surad e, few families of G36 & S Yonis do reside there, like most Somali territories, but that is a majority of H@rti territory, and the map is very illustrative of SSC territories. I think this year is going to be when HJ shall cease to exist on the map, and that would have been effected had it not been Garaado being Allah-fearing true Somali sons, who wish no harm to their fellow country men, but with HA back to baking xalwa harisa in Goljanno, HJ is fully primed for the thrusting of the century.

Closing the border Somaliland has with Somalia is also very important . Who said anything about war  there wasn’t a war when somaliland took over laascanood from puntland  re taking laascanood doesn’t necessarily mean war  there are means to get there . war is only a last resort

You are still hoping SSC might return? To start with, the only reason SL was able to come to Sool was 'cos of the Federal project where ina Riyaale took advantage of the vacuum created by relocating 5,000 dervishes moved from Sool to Jawhar / Baydhaba / Xamar. And now that the Federal project is on a recliner, if imperfect, it is time to bring back the missing piece in from the cold to reconstruct the nation state? Did C/Qadir Jirde not brief tolka on that?

The Kacaan regime was actually hassling my family thru the 80s on the account of my uncle joining SSDF after he was released from jail. He was accused of having knowledge of the coup.

Ironically, I believe the head of NSS was Bicidyahan guy.

Yes, that was the fashionable thing to do back then, and I think you are referring to the infamous Maxamed Jibril. I met some of his family members in the US, wanted to hate them with passion, but could not, as they are just ordinary folk.

What even bothers more is endless attempts to redefine Somali nationhood and reinterpret history.

I have a general interest since Addis  became closely intertwined with Somali politics. I have no immediate familial connection to Somaligalbeed, but clanwise, we live on both sides of the border.

My grandfather on my dad's  side was born near  Wardheer and my other grandfather near  Buhoodle. To be blunt, I am a product of Cali Gari and Bicidyahan.

My family have lived in the South for past 80 plus years.

Apart from that, I am amazed by the history of Ethiopian state and evolution of Somali thinking in regards to it.

I was astonished by how many Somalis went goo goo gaga over  Abiy.

Two things never change, the tyranny of Ethiopian leaders and their ambition on Somali territories. I am saddened a lot of Somalis don't see or choose not to see that.

It explains, as you are technically of S Galbeed. Is Biciidyahan a sub of MX?

I see more of it now than ever, and it always invokes terrible ire in my gut, shout and yell at them, the same way I used to children of Daraawiish waving colonial flags and discussing illegitimate colonial demarcations between Somali territories.

In my last trip back home, for the first time, I travelled on Ethiopian Airline, they managed to lose my luggage, had no idea as to its whereabouts for a whole week, and when it finally arrived, they would not pay compensation for expenses incl. hotel and other basic necessities. Imagine had I been someone whose medication or critical necessities had been in the luggage.

I prefer Turkish Air. Once I had 2 battery chargers in the luggage, as presents, and they opened my luggage and let a note explaining as to the reason they had to be removed, tag number, and how to reclaim them.

    Che,
Your familiarity with and interest in Habasha politics is surprisingly too close to home; are you by chance from the S Galbeed?

Usefull idiots or should I say  stooges  from the native colonised population  are very precuous to the whole colonial state of soomali-galbeed.    According to the Franz Fanon Ibrahim theory on colonialism or should I say settler colonialism is that only brutal struggle or a show of power is all thar is needed to liberate a colonial state.  Cabdi Iley, If I am not wrong was colonial master piece that Menelik dreamed of, an assimalated somali that speaks amharuc and that has accepted the colonial view of self hatred of oneself.  The guy became viral for crying at Meles grave and claiming that he was not dead, as if god forbid the prophet had died. He was also the most brutal stooge that the xabashida could get their hands on.   Never in the history of soomali-galbeed have they had a stooge that implemented and created blood thirsty somali militia killing other somalis. I would say what he did was unprecedented. His legacy continues with the intellectual Mustafa Cagjar embracing ethiopanism and giving a chilling  speach Gondar , praising the Menelik.

In summary, Abdi iley the stooge  and a former electrician created  the feeling of Somalis embracing the concept of -"ethiopian somali". From 1940 -2008 the avarage somali maxamed had the political incliination of how the hell they coud liberate soomali-galbeed.  I have been told that in the 1959 when Haile Selassie needed judges in Soomali-galbeed th qadis would rather flee to Somalia then become a stooge under Xayle Selassie. Even the thought being a judgewas bizarre in the somali psyche in those days.  Even the ethiopians did not accept Somalis as fellow ethiopians and not a single somali was  never made a miniser despite being the third largest ethnic group in Ethiopia.

Maakhir , I  was also suprised  why he was released and the reason is that he was indeed the best stoorge. Now that Abey Ahmeds boat is sinking in a existential war with Amharas Abey Ahmed needed a stooge who cemented the somali psyche with "the amaharas are gone, the TPLF cea6ed federalism.  As if xahashoda in ey kala fiicanyihiiin.   Abey ahned needed a monster stooge against the Amhara, hence fort he cane out,

Good analyses, and in spirit, the same now applies to Somalis in NFD, albeit Sijus are faring much better now beginning to dominate small business in Kenya, and visible in politics, actually gaining land instead of losing unlike in S Galbeed where even Jigjiga is now almost a non-Somali city facing the same fate as Dirir Dhabe. It is disheartening to say the least.

Did you apply the label intellectual to Cagjar? Was that a slip of the tongue?

  14. What are the chances of Cirro winning the coveted seat? Could Jeegaanka be trusted to keep their promise to reer Gacan libaax this time round? Not if history teaches us any, but never say never.

    Adjunct:
I actually would like to see the likes of ina Jirde (one of the only sane politicians left), Jamal, ina Abiib, and Rooda engaged in Federal politicking whilst still ruffling feathers in Hargeysa, sadly Hargeysa is not that politically mature to allow their crisscrossing capitals. Yet, Abiib and Rooda need a couple of classes in classic economics, philosophy and exposure to world politics away from the local mayhem.

And another thing, SL politicking would have been more interesting had it departed from the Egal doctrine of concentrating absolute power in Hargeysa for his control, where some of the aspiring and heavyweights were to stay away from Hargeysa setting up camps in Burco, Borama, and even Gebiley. (Correction: Borama is technically now Awdal interim Admin).

    Postscript:
Both Xamar & Haregysa will eventually pay a hefty price for seeking heavily centralised model whilst depriving other cities nearby. Instead, the PL/SSC/Makhir model where there are so many small towns blossoming between Ceerigaabo to Buhodle to Galkacyo, and now even to Garacad is the future. Cabudwaaq and Guriceel are now technically part of this model. This becomes more evident when one travels on the ground in the eastern, western, and northern parts of the country.
