  1. I need help from the IT experts and people with personal experiences. I'm contemplating to switch from Mac OS X to Windows 10. - Does it influence the performance of the Macbook if I change the operating system to Windows? - Do all programs run smoothly or do some programs work best with Mac OS X? - Does anybody use Windows on their macbook? What are your experiences? - Are there other things that I need to take in consideration? Thanks in advance
  2. I don't know whether Holac and Maakhiri are ethnic somalis. They can state that themselves. Che we forgot the people who lived in our country like the Italians. There are Somalis that have great parents who are Italian. At one point it was also the official language. If there were more ethnicities you can let me know since you have better knowledge about the history then I do. Looool that's what I heared too Al Qaeda the first time. Actually he's saying:''shocky shocky miss alkayida baby dance for me and dab" Ps: Che I thought I mentioned this to you but I see I haven't. To get a more detailed break down of your DNA Ancestry results you have to copy your raw DNA and upload it on Gedmatch or Dna.land.
  3. Yaass Maakhiri! When are you planning to do the test?
  4. Dagax-Tuur that was my translation for Somali cad cad. Che you too enjoy your weekend. Mine already started while dabbing on...
  5. @Che -Guevara said: I think the question is who are the "ethnic Somalis" and how diverse is the genealogy. I want to know that aswell. Che & Holac I received my 23andme package today after 2 days. That's sooo fast considering they were shipping from North America to Holland. Anyways I sended the sample back this afternoon and now starts the waiting
  6. You welcome Holac. Do you wanna share your results when you get it? Whatever you decide I respect your choice.
  7. From what I know there are Somali bantus, Ethnic Somalis and White Somalis (reer xamar & barawani etc). Based on those different groups you will get different DNA results also some of them intermarried each other. I believe there are people who will get a high percentage of ethnic Somali it's a numbers game. The more people who take the test the higher the chance of variations between people. With that said I decided to take the test. I think I have a good chance of scoring high on ethnic Somali. According to my parents we are 100% Somali till many generations back with no bantu, arab or any other ethnicity. That is what they know. Che I read that the results for Ancestry are not that accurate for East Africans. They don't represent Somalia on their map. Try 23andme heared that one is much better more accurate and they recognise East Africans and Somalia is on their map. I will order my kit later on today from 23andme and will keep you posted about my results
  8. What are the chances of finding your cousin in a room full of unknown people. The shock of hearing you're not French at all. Thinks he's full English. 100% African. Most diverse DNA.
  9. That's so cool though that it links you with other people who share the same dna as you. Yeah i'm familiar with the test and sites but never did it i'm just not ready for it. Did you use ancestryDNA or 23andme? Btw this woman is the first person I came across on youtube that is 100% African (97.5% Cameroon). Even I was happy for her and cheering along.
  10. @Che -Guevara said: I am apparently a mix of Bantu, Middle Eastern and North African [berber]. Go figure. The test is basic, it is not very detailed. What are your percentages?
  11. @Che -Guevara said: Blue, it's almost guaranteed a Somali will have other ethnicity. I was surprised when I found out mine. Ooh really.. well share it with us i'm curious
  12. I've never heared of daaqad istaagid must be a street lingo. That's a looong time, what was holding you back? Well done for stepping outside of your comfort zone. Welcome Adoon Alle Liban. I hope your not another politics fanatic.
  13. Nowadays you can take a personal genealogical DNA test. Holac maybe you will find out that you have some other ethnicity in your blood.
  14. Maakhiri I'm not a workaholic nor would I allow myself to become one, never been a supporter. I've seen what it does to people who are it ruins them and the relationships they have with people. They become emotionally unavailable to everyone around them and are unreliable. I make full use of my holidays and don't work when i'm sick. I put an importance on my health, well-being and balancing my work and private life. By the way I believe in working smarter that way you get more things done in a shorter amount of time.
  15. Tillamook I knew you were a good storyteller and writer but I didn't know you were into poems and a deep thinker. Great poems by the way interesting to read. Personally i'm only into Rumi poems so I never read other poems.
  16. Maakhiri I didn't get what you meant by that. Can you explain your comment?

    Haye

Heeyy MMA! How are you? I'm doing great and as for Showqi too bad I missed him when he was here. Looks like he moved to Vancouver and is feeling bored over there.
  18. I start at 8 and sometimes I do overstay like the past 2 days because of a sick co-worker. As long as I get paid and compensated with other days (being free earlier on another day) it's not wasted time. Coofle everything has it's pros and cons. I would say responsible because anybody can become an adult by reaching a certain age but not every adult is responsible.
  19. Che - What do you do now? Mooge - The sweetheart, hello hello! Other then being tired and having painful ears from the Morrocan wedding I attended last night I'm doing great. Lesson learned: never go to a wedding during the weekdays when you have work the next day. How are you and hows life treating you?
  20. Lool exactly 4 years later. Che is that how you wind down? Perhaps that's why you are so chill all the time
  21. Yes i'm a big fan of Rumi. I love his poems. Konya is where he is buried and I haven't been there. What about you? Check out my Rumi thread Rumi
  22. Eid mubarak to you. May it be a day filled with love and joy. No i'm not stressing out in fact i'm calm, collected and at peace. Took eid off today from work and writing you from the beach while sipping on my ice tea Was just curious to know how others balance work and life. Your thoughts about it and what you guys do. I find it interesting to know how different people wind down. Personally I find peace in solitude and nature. It's how I recharge and disconnect from the busy life. It's where I get my energy, inspiration and great ideas. That's what works for me. In general I take good care of my mind, body and soul by adjusting my diet, sleep, spirituality and lifestyle.
  23. How do you guys balance work and life? Who's a workaholic? Do you make use of your vacation days or do you exchange it for money? I'm guilty of not using my vacation days in the past. Only done it two times never again.
  24. Probably because of all the stress, sleep deprivation and fatigue related to the presidential elections. It can take it's toll on your body. That Trump isn't even a competition to compete with.
