  1. Assalam Calaykum sorry about the "hey" it was certainly not meant as an insult to anyone actually the fact that I used such familiar language shows how comfortable i am here Well, thankz for the advice OG and Nafisa thanx sis for the wlc. Assalam
  2. Subhannallah..these are gorgeous pictures and what's even more beautiful is your intentions. Jazakallah Khairan bro
  3. Thankz guys you are all very sweet. Insha Allah I can take the challenge..if this place is a battle of the sexes as some mention...bring it on , LOL, kidding. I feel welcome already...looking forward to debates, chats, conversations...whatever. See you all, Insha Allah .
  4. First I have to say that ..LOl, that was hilarious. Coming from a girl who lives in a (basically) all white small city-- I have to agree that White women--and these are usually over-weight women, date balck men and vise versa. Now the cynical and jaded me could generalize and say Black men love white women--but I disagree . A person is not loved for their skin colour-- that might be what attracts the person but not what makes them stay with them and create a future. It is the mind-- yes , the mind and not the just the heart, that compels-- a simple attractions is just that-- it begins and ends just as quickly but a mind-- ohh,a mind that is intellectual and stimulating...that is a rare price and one to be cherished. Now..i'm not saying all these women (white women) are intelligent..... I'm just saying that WE have to be smart and not generalize--- it usually doesn't lead anywhere but to bitterness, envy and hatred....and we are better than that. If a person is worth loving its because they have beautiful values and morals that u would not disapprove of-- and what is better than deen? those who know it share like morals. The persons actions speak for themselves for words fade away with the wind....just as physical attractions is as fleeting as youth. Well...those are my two cents salam
  5. Assalam Calaykum.. That was very moving not to mention eye opening. Bother...was this meant to motivate our fellow sisters or to judge them? was it to lift their spirits to remind them of the bravery and courage that our women in Islam have demonstrated or was it to show their faults? If it was the first ..then Masha Allah. If it was the second then It is sad for a brother to do so. I myself loved this peice because it made me want to spring into action and it brought forth what is important in life. However, acts of great heroism aren't what make the woman-- it is the daily action that proves her worth . her recollection of Allah in every single activity of the day and in her every thought. Brother..have you ever wondered what it is like fo sisters in Islam...specially in western societies? Not to put down brothers but it is the sisters who stand as markers for Islam -- the Hijab attracts attention, it attracts questions it atracts insults , it attracts gossip ..it attracts .period. We are constantly in front of society ..constantly explaining our actions our thoughts and our "lack " of rights. The Hijab is not just an ornament..Subhannallah it is a badge ...and just like the badge of authority it comes with great responsibility. i like your article because it reminds..but it also puts down...it seems to say that youa re not good enough..that your little actions are not as worthy as these..when a single smile of kindness and a few words of encouragement to someone who needs it is an ajeer--- who are we to state what is good enough? There seems t o be a lot of put down of sisters that wear hijab--- have you ever tried wearing one? have yo lived in my life? No you haven't and you can never do so...so do not judge .but encourage ..for strength comes in the unity of muslims the unity of brothers and sisters--- a single goal to submit to Allah.
