  1. The End Of The Warlord Era And The Embagatti Outfit! Good news at least temporarily for the terrorized masses of Mogadishu. A defeating blow to all knids of warlords including Abdillahi Yususf, currently holed up in Baidawa. This is a devastating blow to the cowardly Mogadishu warlords, who flee from their posts and weapanry. A crushing defeat for the advocates of the long lost cause-the so-called Somali-Weyn. One Rear Hamar writer is advocting the change of the name Somalia because he call it a clannish and racist name. Yesteryear's clannist are todays uniionists. That doesn't add up. Did they became overnight unionist to cover their long term clanish agenda. But the bad news is they can't deceive any one today. The temporary victory for the Islamists is another chapter in the endless saga of what was left of the former Somalia. Prediction The Islamist may takeover all Southern Somalia in a month or two. They will declare an Islamic government. The US may intervene and the rest is history. The Republic of Somaliland will be recognized.
  2. The malignant cancer that was one of the factors, that precipitated the sterling Republic of Somaliland to reaquire its independence are the people who run the criminal clannish entity called Puntland. This copy cat entity already destroyed the fake Embagatti project. By just making Abdullahi Yususf the figure head of that deal was a pretext for failure. This crazy and suicidal people are embarked to touch off a new conflagration in the area bitting the state of Somaliland against the tribal entity of Bari in one front. The second front in the south will comprise Mogadishu warlords and Somaliland supporters in one side against Puntland . These people are against any kind of peace to come back to the south. They are the main reason why so many governments formed for the south have failed. The only state they accept is a dictatorship under their tutelage. That won't happen today. I would like to warn them not to provoke, as they are doing now everywhere, another conflict they will certainly loose.
  3. The End Of The Emagatti Project The declaration of the clannish, and fragile state of Puntland, put the last nail of the coffin of the above-mentioned chronically ill patien-Southern Somaliat. The government for the warlords, by the warlords and the defeated remanents of the ousted genocidal dictator is finally over. What is next, the vagabonds who made a career of participating and living on meaningless meeting held outside southern Somalia has no where to go. The problem is no country in the world can take these clowns with such lengthy blemished record. Those who live by the clan card will die by it. The nomadic government has finally evaporated into thin air. I wonder, when Somaliland go it alone, what else is left, mt prediction is right and the answers is nothing. What is left is what you see for the last 16 years, warlords, Adde Muse, Abdillahi Yusuf and few other clonwish characters. You can't see government, parliament, civil society institutions, law and order. All you hear is clan this caln that, fighting here fighting there. you also seeing so much criminal activities going on in Bossaso, shady deals with bad international actors.I was wondering from the beginning if this kind of Embagatti crowd can turn even one stone.
  4. What had happened in Somaliland before and after president Rayaale's recent visit to that country is a tacit recognition of Somaliland. According to unconfirmed reports close to the AU, Djibouti and Yemen will follow Ethiopia's decision, and may in the forseable future recognize Somaliland in some capacity. Ethiopia sending a veteran diplomat Hargeisa, carrying the title Ambassdor is a tacit recognition of Somaliland. This is a just a complete recognition but with little anouncement, what is you call a silent recognition. The Ethiopians have taken this brave step at this time for two reasons: (1). pressure is mounting around the world especially in the United States, Britian, Germany, South Africa, Senegal and Nigeria to name a few. A decision will be about to made as how to deal with Africa's kept secret. According to reliable sources keeping Africa's best kept in a legal limpo will stand on no legal basis anymore. The fact is that Somaliland was a seperat independent country prior to the failed union of 1960. The fact they colonized by a seperat colonial power will pose a legal no man's land to the AU and other international entities. (2)Some imporatant countries including Ethiopia have lost interest with the warlord infested Embagatti project. Therefore, they are already reading the Eulogy for this on paper goverment. Meanwhile, during Rayaale's visit to Addis Ababa, he was welcomed as a soverign head of state. Those who are adovating for a non existent country, I say to them keep dreaming. Somaliland is a real and existing country, though we wish the rest of Somalia minus Somaliland to have their own government, that is just a wishful thinking at least at this point. I will close my piece by saying happy independence day for Somalilanders on all the corners of the world. Again Somaliland's soverignity independence is sacrosant, irrersable, permanent and nonnegatiable. I also like to salute the courageous brothers and sisters who this year celeberated Somaliland's independence in Mogadishu.
  5. The behavor of some of the pro-unity crowd is reminscent of the days of Siyad Barre's doomed dictatorship. You can't tell us Somalilanders what to do when our country is almost 20 years ahead of the rest of the back, in terms of democratization, political maturity, education, social services and other aspects. Those who destroyed Somalia Yesterdays can not claim as the vanguards of unity today. A clannist, tribalist adocating for unity is hypocrisy of the highest order. I think you guys are so familiar to us. If we play your clan card most of the south including Kismayo, Merka, Baidawa, some parts of Mudug and Barre are inhabited by people related to the majority Somalilanders. If we use your language even the people of Djibouti are related by blood to Somalilanders. You guys stop talking about Sool and Sanaag. The latter are diverse states. The way you guys are behaving, you are heading for trouble. We in Somaliland don't want trouble. But we will vigorously defend all our borders, soverignity and independence. stop claiming our land. You can't be clannist and for unity at the same time. You know nothing will ever happen in the south may be for the coming 50 years. If the last 16 years area guide, the probablity of anything happening in the south as long as clannist are leading the pact is remote. I think it is better for you guys not to antagonize Somalilanders. You must remember the people of the south may not trust you either. Finally, Somaliland's soverignity, independence and self-determination is permanent, irreversable and nonnegotiable. Keep dreaming, the unity fantasy has ended long time ago.
  6. It sad up to now that there is sanity in discussions. Up to now the people of Somali decent can not engage in a civil, and meaninful discussion where different people or groups can vigorously urge their positions in a civil manner. What is going is unforfunately typical of the Somali-speaking people anywhere in the world. Subjectivity, negative attitude, deep mistrust of each other, disparaging each other and the propagation of falsehoods, and wishful thinking is the rule of the game. Reality is the true casuality here. What you see in discussion forums, in cafes, posted internet articles, what is happening in Mogadishu and other places is the sign and symptoms of deeply polarized, fragmented, hatred-filled and paranoid people. This will reflect the mental status of many Somalis which is nothing but troubled. Meanwhile, majority of Somali-speaking ethnic groups keep on identifying and attributing everything on clan. I am sure clan can not take anybody anywhere. Anything purely clan-based is not sustainable. If you passionately do something on clan basis, that thing or endeavor will fall apart in a very short period of time. Clan is not a hierrechal organization where power is from top down. it is a horizontal structure where everybody is sailing in the same boat. Clan also can not be bound or limited by bylaws, rules or regulations. It is a free for all open organization where you can do or say anything you want without being accountable to anybody. I would also advise people not to underestimate, unreasonably disparage, or play down the concrete achievements the people of the people of Somaliland without outside help. Just look at the 15 Somali conferences held outside the country. Non of the governments selected in those foreign countriesw so far worked. Though we can not accurately predict the success and failure of the recent Embagatti government currently in Baidawa, Its starting was rather bumpy. It has faced monumental difficulties, uncompromising warlords and many other obstacles. I can't predict if a miracle will happen, but the probability of its success generally is slim. Finally I believe a peaceful, prosperous and recognized Somaliland may be the best hope for any new Somali government. I am urging everybody to watch what he/she is saying about Somaliland, because you never know. The saying goes "Hadal xuni dadkana wuu kugu dira waxana kuuma Kurdhiyo" I may not say it well, but the bottom line is, when you see what is happening in Mogadishu, Merka, Kismayo, Jowhar, Beldweyne and Buulohawo and other places, you need not to antagonize the hard working, realistic and resilient people of Somaliland. An indepenmdent Somaliland may be the only hope Somalia will have. You the whole world has written off Somalia.
  7. It seemed most of the articles posted on this forum are die-hard antiSomaliland zealots. The discussion should open, free and both sides of this burning issue should be given equal access. Meanwhile, the discussion should be based on realities and must be backed by concrete evidence, otherwise, it will degenerate into a shallow wishful thinking which is so far away from reality. So far most of the people posting articles here are the same far-right anti-Somaliland crowd in Wardhere news. Top put few things into perspective, Somaliland is an emerging democratic countries which ie primarily the only good news coming from the whole Horn of Africa. Look what is happening in the former state of Somalia. There wars, conflict, death, destruction in every hemlet in most of the southern part of the now defunct state of Somalia. Genetlmen, you need to come what days as what you do in the daily death and devastation in Mogadishu, the chaos and vilence in Kismayo, Merka and Baidawa. Lets us be realistic and face the real fact on the ground. The self-determination of the Somaliland is sacrocant, and their independence is permanent, irreversable and non-negotiable.
